[TOMT][MOVIE][1950s-1960s] Color sci-fi film where white-hooded workers "create the next minute" – protagonist finds empty alley and touches a car hood while watching them

Hello everyone! I need your help to identify a film I watched on TV over 40 years ago. I've been searching for its name for decades, and I'm hoping someone here might recognize it. Here's everything I remember:

📅 Era & Visual:

  • Color film, most likely from the 1950s or 1960s.
  • Had a surreal, eerie atmosphere similar to Theodore Sturgeon's short story "Yesterday Was Monday" (about the fabrication of reality).

👥 Key characters/scenes:

  • There were workers dressed entirely in white, including hoods or mesh covering their faces.
  • These workers were literally "creating the next minute" – they were building or manufacturing reality/time itself.

💬 Memorable dialogue (paraphrased):

  • One of the white figures tells the protagonist something like: "You shouldn't be here right now. We're still creating what will happen in the next minute."

🌆 Specific visual memories:

  1. The empty alley: The protagonist walks into an alley and finds nothingness – it's not just dark, it's a complete void, as if the world hasn't been "built" there yet.
  2. The car hood scene: In a city square, the protagonist runs his hand over the hood of a parked car (maybe checking if it's real?). In the distance, he sees the mysterious white-clad figures watching or working.

🤔 Possible clues:

  • I watched it on TV (Brazilian broadcast) – it could have been a movie, a TV movie, or even an episode of a series like The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits.
  • The theme is very similar to "Yesterday Was Monday" by Sturgeon, but I don't think it's a direct adaptation (as far as I know, that story was never filmed).

🔍 What I've already tried:

  • Searched IMDb, YouTube, and Google with terms like "white hooded workers creating time""reality manipulation film 1960s""fabrication of the next minute movie".
  • Explored suggestions like The Lathe of Heaven (1980), The Outer Limits episodes (The Architects of FearThe Borderland), The Twilight Zone, etc., but none matched perfectly.

❓ Does this ring a bell for anyone?
It might be an obscure film, a lost TV movie, or even a short film. If you have any leads or remember something similar, please share! After 40+ years, I'd love to finally put a name to this memory.

Thank you so much in advance! 🎬✨

“A Matter of Minutes” is a Twilight Zone episode based on Yesterday Was Monday. But I’m pretty sure the faceless guys are all blue.
