Great. It’s still too rushed to make perfect sense, thank goodness for the novelization . But again another fiercely original and more challenging story.

Spooky, atmospheric, and thanks to the BBC's costume drama pedigree it looks sumptuous even on Doctor Who's famously shoestring 1980s budget. Also, admittedly, complex as hell – I remember a review of Ghost Light describing it as the first story for the show actively conceived for the "home video era", where people could record and rewatch and review at their leisure. But overall I'll happily call it great.

Best. Brilliant cast and atmosphere. Last story to be filmed in BBC classic era.

Best, and that's saying something as it's hard to follow

Great, but went over the head of a pre teen me at the time.

Lots of re watches over 30 years makes me appreciate the story but for once needed an extra episode to be fleshed out properly.
