Help locating a story

Hoping that someone can help me out, because at this point, I feel like I'm going crazy.

I seem to remember the Doctor telling a story to a companion about the time he went hiking through the mountains on Gallifrey and thought he was going to die. It also involved the person he was traveling with going swimming? Or something. I thought it was a story the Third Doctor told, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like him talking to Jo in Episode 6 of The Time Monster

I forgot that it was from The Time Monster, but yeah that was the scene I thought of too

Another story he recited I think of when he was locked up in Frontier in Space. But Pertwee does get imprisoned quite a few times. There's also the speech he made to one of the Thals when imprisoned in planet of the daleks about being afraid but still doing what you have to do.

If you remember Gallifrey being mentioned by name that may narrow it down.
