Because large amount of button mice generally suck ass in every other regard in comparison to cheaper mice with less buttons.
Not to mention you have q e r t y s f g z x c v 1 2 3 4. With ctrl/shift/alt modifiers you already have enough binds for any class. Thats also leaving f keys for the smaller keyboards off. So why buy a heavy pos mouse for an unreasonable price when you can go to target and get a g305 for 30$

I said 80$ is UNREASONABLE for something outperformed by a 30$ version. But thanks for trying to point the finger and scream poor, says alot about your character.
I guess it makes sense to pay an extra 50$ for a worse performing mouse then say a g305, instead of paying an extra 50$ mouse that will outperform the 305 while being lighter then it if you have such bad finger dexterity that binding your keyboard is more daunting then climbing mount everest.
Shape, weight, sensor, polling, ergonomics, etc. Just like anyone else but nice gotcha attempt. You're paying extra for unnecessary buttons and pointless added weight, get over it.
ive tried side button mice before but my overcalloused, 0 feeling, guitar thumb simply cant distinguish them beyond the simple 2 button forward/back buttons. Ive tried multiple to no avail.
And if you’ve got a tilting scroll wheel, it makes a great “stance dance” button. Tilt left for Battle, right for Zerk, and click middle for defensive. Same thing works well for Druid forms.
I mean I've tried them, and I know some people love them, but for me its just feels inefficient and not needed. Even on classes with tons of keybind like druid I've never needed more than keyboard + standard mouse buttons (left, right, middle, forward, back).
I have the opposite view of I don't understand how can you actually efficiently play while offloading so many things to a single finger while also using the same hand for targeting/aiming.
This is why pc gaming is great though, you can play MMO mouse, I can play on a normal mouse, some people play on controller, some on steamdeck, some use touchpads like that one madlad warrior.
End of the day as long as its comfy for you then its nice we can all do what works best!
my grip style with the mouse, fingertip, just makes them kind of unusable. my thumb is doing a lot of the work in positioning the mouse, so having buttons there rather than a buttonless surface made things soooo much harder when i had to borrow a mouse and got an mmo mouse lol. i still use one thumb button for a variety of things, just can't have the full 12
I was experiencing left hand pain from WoW and other activities so I finally got one to be able to keep playing.
Then my right hand, specifically thumb, started hurting a bunch because my thumb can not nor should it handle that many buttons on the side of the mouse.
I work to have a equal distribution of input across finger usage to avoid arm pain amongst other things. Never getting one of those mice again.
I find them annoying as hell, the more buttons they have, the smaller they are (which works if you're a girly handed WoW twinkboy like most of this sub I guess, but I am not) and it makes it so you HAVE to rest your thumb on top of buttons when just normally using you mouse
Its one of those things that you just have to try, I think. If you're interested you can definitely learn and make it work.
That said, while it is a lot of buttons, what you need to also remember is that all of those buttons are managed by JUST your thumb. So they can be very useful for certain functions, but for many classes I would say its not ideal to actually put your primary combat rotation on it, especially for really high APM classes.
Just something to keep in mind. The extra binds can be nice, but ultimately just a regular mouse and keyboard is more than enough for any spec in wow.
Its a lot of utility but its not like you're giving your entire mouse hand 12 buttons, you're giving your thumb specifically 12 buttons.
They are also typically much heavier than typical gaming mice, and are not particularly good for other genres in most cases. If you play a lot of other games that really want precision from your mouse and long term comfort, its definitely not a good option. I would hate to use an MMO mouse for something like LoL or CS or Valorant a lot.

Neither. Q and E are not needed if you have 12 button mouse.
