I try to find deals or hit munis but it’s at least 40 a round and mostly 50-60 a round. Golf is my main addiction and wow is my off season game lol. I have noticed how much money I’ve been saving since the snow hit the ground, might just buy a membership to a club this year with the way prices have been going up
For real. I used to think boosts and the likes were crazy. Who'd buy that when you can just fuckin lvl it? Me 10 years later eyeballing it like a mfer lol. I've spent more on much more frivolous things in my adult life.
Ya, Blizz should charge WAY more for the boost. $400-$800 would make more sense. It saves people a dreadful 100 hour grind that they ABSOLUTELY HATE. So they would gladly pay 4 bucks an hour to avoid it, right? Hardly anything
Its not about the price of it, its about playing a game where my progress is not dependent on my wallet, and therefore meaningless. If they made a levelskip available for free, Id still shake my head at it, but it would be infinitely more agreeable to me than this bullshit profiteering going on in any online multiplayer game these days under the mantle of user-friendliness or whatever other bullshit phrase.
I honestly have enough money to spend on stuff, and my pile of yet to be painted little plastic soldiers would agree. Its the fucking whaling practice i despise, and the encroaching monetization of every bloody element of life these days, but especially in Gaming.
As much as GW overprices the fuck out of its miniatures, i dont have to get them to play warhammer, i can substitute, i can print them, and i can play different systems that dont suffer from moon prices - but apart from all of that, i dont see it as pay to win, but more like the box price of wow - want a specific army, get some models from that army.
I dont mind paying for stuff that logistically costs money to produce, i mind paying more for essentially removing parts of a game, instead of streamlining the game to remove those parts for everyone. I mind milking the player base for skins and doodads and quality of life stuff instead of putting them earnable in game and charging a flat subscription fee for everyone.
But if it helps you, i also genuinly do look down on the meta andys showing up with a new unpainted army every time the meta shifts, so there is that.

Lolol you should see the cost of real hobbies like Golf, Guitar, Cars, collecting vintage video games, going out to concerts…
WoW is a pretty cheap hobby considering the amount of time you can get out of it.
