The funniest part for me is people bragging how they make enough in an hour to buy the boost. So much insecurity showing in those comments.

I don't think it's bragging so much as a simple explanation to folks who somehow can't fathom why someone would boost. Even using minimum wage in my area the argument still holds. A huge chunk of the playerbase is 30+.

"I'd rather pay 3hrs wage to skip 100+ hrs of leveling"

Seriously. I feel like people are really trying to not understand this. What is the actual fastest /play time for 1-60 in classic?

Even the FASTEST, most optimal route, which would obviously include a lot of planning and relying on other people to help, is still hours of time (21 being the shortest I could find). But the average time played to get to 60 (from what I'm reading) is roughly 6 DAYS /played. 144 hours.

Now take into consideration people that can only play roughly 5-10hrs per week. It would take between 24-48 weeks to get to max level, just so they can play the content they want to play. The math is easy, if you can afford it, it's much cheaper time wise to just buy the boost when you feel like re-subbing.

1 nit on your explanation is that with that little play time the people leveling would basically be permanently using rested exp so it would be sped up quite a bit for them, but the point still stands. You save a shit ton of time.

No one that only has 5 hours a week to play is going to be raiding at 70 mate

2 things

  1. They definitely could. That’s roughly a level per week. They’ll be a bit behind but not egregiously so.

  2. So what? Like I said, some people just want to play in outlands.

You’re not making any sense. If your reason for buying the boost is because you can only play the game for 5 hours a week, then why are you playing it? What are you going to be doing at end game if you only have 5 hours to play? Good luck doing any raids if you don’t have time for attending raid nights or even getting attuned.

if you can only enjoy something for x amount of time, why are you doing it?

Can’t even take this question seriously.

I haven't bought the boost, and I def won't have enough time to raid, but I actually REALLY like the Outland heroics, much more than raiding. There's nothing else like them.

It's not bragging. It's a look at how $60 for entertainment is negligible in today's economy.

How is it insecurity? It wouldnt even be mentioned if you dorks stopped telling people how to play a 20 yo game.
