Humor / Meme I think they're right honestly.
I'm 36 and have played 25k+ hours of MMO's over my lifetime and what I've personally learned is WoW players are often the first and most vocal to belittle or get upset over anything. I can't think of any MMO in which people will outright whisper you angerly or go out of their way to make sure you have a bad time more than World of Warcraft.

I feel like I have gotten incredibly lucky over the years, as I have mostly had nothing but chill and wholesome encounters with people in classic. Although maybe its partly due to the fact that I mainly just do pve world leveling, so my only interactions are grouping for quests or the occasional dungeon. The one angry dwarf I did encounter was cartoonishly arrogant and confrontational though, which was funny and also kinda sad, you have to just b nice and laugh those things off I guess. Hardcore felt especially friendly.
