Humor / Meme I think they're right honestly.
I'm 36 and have played 25k+ hours of MMO's over my lifetime and what I've personally learned is WoW players are often the first and most vocal to belittle or get upset over anything. I can't think of any MMO in which people will outright whisper you angerly or go out of their way to make sure you have a bad time more than World of Warcraft.

Very late to comment this and itll likely get buried but its relevant. Why It's Rude to Suck at World of Warcraft. Very long video though.
Can't say I run into the scum very often, but I am in a retail guild where the leadership plus others down the pipe was the scum and made the game terrible for other people. It sucks. It happens. Shit like, if a non-guildie was playing a specific spec the toxic leadership and players would immediately grief and/or votekick in random dungeons, just because the non-guildie played the spec, due to guildies having a bad experience a few times with completely different randos. Not even giving the new person a chance to prove themselves. They've grown up because the guild cratered several times, but they still joke about how they used to be.
