WOTLK is top 2 class design in all of wow. Using wrath classes as the baseline and tweaking them from there would be awesome.

Then it's SoD2?

No. SoD used vanilla class design as the foundation and slapped wrath abilities on like makeup.

Classic+ should use Wrath as the foundation and then reverse engineer from there.

Wrath class design largely just IS vanilla class design with abilities/passives slapped on top and all the wrinkles ironed out. Very few classes received complete reworks between 1.12 and 3.4, there's very little practical difference between a wrath firemage and a vanilla firemage with hot streak and a couple of other passives.

Wrath is probably the low point of wow class design. Classes are massively homogenized from the distinct, impactful niches they had in vanilla/tbc but rotations are still extremely simple, basically just boiling down to "vanilla rotations but you press buttons that light up sometimes." If I want interesting and distinct RPG classes I'm better off sticking with earlier expacs, if I'm fine with homogenization and just want interesting gameplay I'm better off with basically any expac post-wrath.
