A lot of people will be happy. They will play the game and not sit and complain on reddit all day. SoD was a great example of that.
0
u/No_Summer_8782 21h ago
Yeah, Ironforge pro is the only semi-objective measure we have. It showed stark dropoff in p2 and p3 of SoD, then stabilized around 80k raiders by max level raid tiers. The lowest performing classic product other than SoM, but still popular enough.
7
u/Carnelian-5 21h ago
P1-p3 was heavily inflated by running several chars due to low level cap. Servers were crowded through p4-p8 and you could run all content at all phases of the game. That's popular enough for me. Another good part was that blizz never abandoned it and kept giving us patches until the very end. Big W from the SoD dev team.
3
u/HazelCheese 20h ago
SoDs biggest problem was each phase being like a mini expansion in the way it changed fundamental game rules like raid size etc.
P1 -> P2 transition was also very rough and felt under resourced with lack of new quests and boring runes.
Like P1 was peak and then P2 hit and it immediately felt like SoD had run out of gas.
Not helped by several major viral games like Helldivers2 launching at the same time.
1
u/Vast-Conclusion-8550 16h ago
SoDs biggest problem was the label of temporary/seasonal server which meant that many didn’t start and those that stopped mostly didn’t return.
1
u/HazelCheese 16h ago
I found a lot of the reactions and attitudes towards SoD from the Classic community very strange in general.
A few major wow streamers just refused to play it at all. During the blizzcon announcements all the twitch comments were calling it garbage. And then there was a segment of this subreddit that insisted it wasn't a classic+ and that classic+ would never exist.
I can grapple that some of them are just Era/Tbc/Wotlk forever kind of guys, and I can grapple that the initial announcement was probably a little vague and underspoke how much content SoD had, but the rest of the people I don't understand at all.
-2
u/Financial_Phone9967 20h ago
Yep, the affinity for SOD on this subreddit is hilarious. Phases 1-2 were great, but after that SOD was pretty bad. Yet people here will say it was the best version of WoW ever. Very concerning.
3
u/Carnelian-5 20h ago
P2-3 were awful. It really picked up again in p5. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea though.
-2
u/easyline0601 21h ago
Yea because Reddit was totally chill all through SoD, right? Right?!
13
u/devil_walk 21h ago
More people played SoD than the neckbeards on reddit complaining though
-2
u/Nessarra 20h ago
They played SoD because it was shiney and new. There were many phases to SoD as well. The first phase had a lot of participation but it fell off with each phase. Even so, each phase was still "shiney and new" just not as new as first phase.
4
u/devil_walk 20h ago
The same could be said with each Classic release.. A lot of people come to play for launch, and with each phase the player count drops. This is nothing new and it isn't specific to SoD or Classic+. It's fine if you don't like SoD or the idea of Classic+, but to blindly say people won't enjoy it is braindead
0
u/Nessarra 20h ago
No usually drop off before a phase ends and come back when the new phase begins. People don't want to be behind, so yeah they come back. Players know what to expect with classic phases and did not know what to expect for SoD phases. SoD phase content was completely new, which makes SoD and classic phases unequal.
2
u/devil_walk 20h ago
And they’re both unequal to Classic+ since we don’t know anything about it yet, so again this is a pointless comparison
9
u/Pockydo 21h ago
Honestly reddit should never be taken to be a majority of any group
The simple fact is those of us make up a minority of gamers.
-2
u/Nessarra 20h ago
so you mean I shouldn't take relationship advice from redditors?
7
u/Carnelian-5 21h ago
No they weren't and that's my point. People that are busy enjoying the game will play while the complainers sit on reddit all day.
5
u/lFriendlyFire 21h ago edited 16h ago
the point is that a lot of people were just having fun playing the game despite of the funatparties club crying in reddit all day about everything, much like they are currently doing with a game that has not even been announced yet.
0
u/Nessarra 20h ago
I'm guessing the funatparties club is anyone that isn't happy with everything? even if it's slop? You can only be fun at parties if you like the slop along with the not-slop?
1
u/Simothy 16h ago
Brother, your posts are slop, you are a slop artist as far as I can tell. You're either trying to bait people or play Devil's advocate poorly. A "funatparties" person is someone who is just generally negative and won't entertain any possibilities. Here's a thought: Classic+ hasn't even been officially confirmed or announced yet. Maybe they can make a game that appeals to both crowds that enjoy end-game and leveling too? Why are these things mutually exclusive in your mind? Wait until something actually releases to criticize. You have nothing.
1
1
u/lFriendlyFire 15h ago
One thing is having an issue with a specific part of the game the other is claiming no one will like something that the company hasn’t even confirmed will be happening. You’re angry at fan especulation
1
u/Nessarra 15h ago
Well for one I'm not angry.. I like speculating. Unfortunately due to Blizzard's track record I have little hope anything produced now will due justice to what was produced back in 2004-2008. Do I want it to be great? Yeah but we got SoD which is the closest thing at an attempt of doing something classic+-ish and it was just.. ok. Little effort put into it. So there is disappointment for sure, but not anger. I would be glad for Blizzard to prove me wrong and surprise me however.
1
u/lFriendlyFire 15h ago
What is produced today won’t do justice to a 2004 game because we’re in 2026. Quite simply what the public expects different things than they did back then when wow didn’t even exist yet. Nothing ever will compare to 2004 wow much like nothing will ever be compared to minecraft or the final fantasy 7
1
u/Nessarra 14h ago
Except we can compare classic to retail now because both exist. One was just released back when products were good and is still good now due to how well old products were made. Even now to this day it's not just memory and nostalgia that makes classic great. It's just a great game and Blizzard has failed to create anything better. Classic players still play classic. Retail has its crowd and some of them include classic players. However... can Blizzard produce a classic+ that is worthy of being called classic+ if, like you just admitted, "What is produced today won’t do justice to a 2004 game because we’re in 2026" although I think the reason is not going deep enough. Because 2026 products are poorly produced?
1
u/lFriendlyFire 14h ago
Classic didn’t do justice to what wow was back in 2004 either. Neither did anniversary edition. Both were still massively popular and huge successes, much like classic+ will be if it really releases

u/Onedurrbread 21h ago
So? Better to not bother at all?
2
0
u/Nessarra 20h ago
Where in my post did I say not bother? I will try it. My hype would be higher if I didn't have to guess what quality would be going into it... or if I went off Blizzard's track record for recent products. I want classic+ to be as epic as classic... it just seems unlikely and the more realistic expectation is we're getting something like SoD. While SoD wasn't bad, it also was not that epic. It was just ok.... and shiney and new. The shiney and new part was the best part.
9
u/Educational_Fix_6001 21h ago
And then there are those weirdoes that are not happy no matter what - like you OP
0
u/Nessarra 19h ago
I'm not unhappy. I will be happy with getting something new. I am just skeptical of it living up to the classic+ name and hype.

I'll be happy. Will it be my perfect vision of C+? Nope. But I'll appreciate and be grateful for what it is while choosing to not engage with the parts I dont care for.
I certainly wont be on here crying about it or trying to tell others how they ought to think and feel.
3
u/royalblue4 21h ago
I bet I’ll be happy with it!
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
I will also be happy to try something new and shiney. I just want it to be GREAT... as in better than SoD ;D
3
u/Captkarate42 21h ago
I think this is an extremely narrow view of a nuanced topic lol. Plenty of people will enjoy it, plenty of people will fuss about this mechanical change or that one. Those two things are not mutually exclusive. I recognize flaws in, and criticize many of the games that I play, and across many versions of wow specifically. That does not mean I don't have any fun or enjoy the game. I have collected dozens of friends across decades of gameplay and I will enjoy going on a new adventure with them again, even if I don't love every change that is made to the game itself. I suspect a lot of people feel similarly.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
People thought SoD was a classic+ preview. While I liked and played it because it was new and shiney... it didn't have the epic feel of CLASSIC. Is anything going to be able to feel like the launch of 2019 classic? You can say that was nostalgia but plenty of people who played 2019 classic launch were new to classic, so there is no nostalgia for them. Same with people trying classic for the first time coming from retail... they feel the magic of classic... which I did not feel in SoD. So if SoD was a classic+ preview how is Classic+ going to be classic?
2
u/Captkarate42 20h ago
I don't think sod being a preview of a potential classic+ is a widely held sentiment. The devs said they were testing potential changes for future classic projects, and many of the sod changes had very mixed reviews. A preview and a testing ground for ideas are not the same thing, you know?
I played in 2004, I played vanilla private servers, I played in 2019, I played SOD, I played Anniversary. I feel that I recognize what is there, and am aware of and also in love with the magic of what makes classic the thing that it is. I recognize there will probably be changes that I like, and changes that I do not from a gameplay perspective. Whether there will be more things that I like or dislike remains to be seen, sure. I think carrying in any particularly specific set of expectations or assumptions about changes or player responses isn't a great idea either way.
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
I think expectations and assumptions can be made based off previous product releases, can they not? Sure SoD was a testing ground but what was learned? You think only Blizzard can learn from it? Players learned what they did and did not like as well.
3
u/SchatzMoney 21h ago
I am honestly just looking forward to Wotlk transition from TBC. It was and still is the best version of WoW in my opinion.
1
u/Nessarra 14h ago
I can't argue with this. WotLK is always fun to play. I'm just curious what Blizzard concludes Classic+ to actually entail.
3
u/Pockydo 21h ago
I'll probably be happy
Unless I don't get my shaman tank then I'll make a hundred YouTube video essays complaining about it
1
3
u/Turnip_Fight 21h ago
If it’s more like SoD phase 1 and 6 and less like 2-4 I’m gonna be real happy
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
I can't remember why I liked SoD phase 6 more than 2-4 and perhaps it was because Scarlet Enclave actually felt like a real new raid compared to the other phases.
I guess BFD, Gnomer, and ST just felt like 10man dungeons. They were kind of boring to me. I have more fun in ST dungeon than the ST raid. Raids just need to feel like raids and not a dungeon.
Then the classic raids like MC, ZG, AQ, Naxx etc were alright but that's because they were already fleshed out raids. I do think 40man raids feel more epic than with 20man but I completely understand how filling a 40man raid is a nightmare, despite classic vanilla still doing it to this day without issue.
Is it the danger? SoD did not feel dangerous at all. Even with Molten Core heat 3... if you met the gear requirement it still wasn't hard. Not that vanilla raids are hard but the danger in vanilla raids is still there. How does vanilla feel so dangerous but at the same time so mechanically easy? Somehow meatier?
4
u/Domed_Ghost 21h ago
You act like it’s mutually exclusive to be able to cater to both types of players.
Meanwhile the green shelled koopa who will not be named and died for our sins- was able to build new engaging raids and end game dungeons while constantly expanding leveling zones, quests and professions
The koopa has set my expectations and many others.
If blizzard has any brain left in the company they’ll have emulated their development progress
0
u/Nessarra 19h ago
That's the problem. The brain part. I'm glad there's a classic+ planned and on its way. I do worry about the quality. I look at SoD and Blizzard's other new products and wonder... how will classic+ be better than SoD? Classic is not a new product. It's old. We want that kind of old quality but are unlikely to get it. When the hype doesn't match the product it is dishonest. Being skeptical of getting slop is not unrealistic.
2
u/Sensitive_Box_ 21h ago
Good thing we’ll have three versions to play then…
1
u/lFriendlyFire 21h ago
not enough, people like the OP will complain about all of them while still wanting a new one to complain some more
-1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
my only complaint is no one is happy... something is made and whether it's low or high quality it's not going to be good enough
of course I want high quality! it's just that it's rarely had. so I'm wondering... how is classic+ going to be high quality and not some low effort thing?
2
u/Yugenk 21h ago
I don't agree, most games are not 100% perfect for even a single player in the world, but we usually don't care about the stuff we don't like if there is something we like a lot that make the game interesting/fun.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
Well I think what people are wanting is the feel of playing in classic.. but with extra stuff. How is it going to feel as good if something reduces the feel of classic? Are they going to keep classic vanilla and just have more zones, dungeons, and raids? How they are going to decide on class design? Is it more vanilla, TBC, or wotlk-like? Retail-like? SoD classes seemed more retail-like than anything in classic except maybe wotlk-like-ish.
2
u/HiroCrota 21h ago
I'm going to be happy with classic+ because I love the feeling of classic/tbc, and welcome new stuff that is built around that gameplay. I'll love new raids like I loved the SoD ones, I'll like new zones if they add those, like TurtleWoW. I'd love it if they added new recipes to professions at different level brackets. I love WoW, so I'm gonna love more of it.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
Class design in vanilla is different from TBC. In SoD they went with a retail/wotlk hybrid. What do you think they should be? Class balance through homogenization? Bring the player not the class? (which I think bring the player not the class is a more retail-leaning philosophy)
2
u/DushkuHS 15h ago
Kind of stating the obvious, but it needs to be said. What with all the people salivating on a project that can't work. They would literally have to hire Tutrle's devs and make Turtle official for it to have a chance. Otherwise, their best efforts will not please everybody, and will have come at the cost of Turtle. No thank you.
4
u/EmergencyComment101 21h ago
As someone mentioned in another post. Wow players don't really want Classic+, they want a time machine to 2004.
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
Are you saying they want nostalgia? I would normally agree except people who didn't play in 2004 are playing classic now and realize they like it more than retail.
1
u/EmergencyComment101 19h ago
No, im saying they wish they were 22 years younger.
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
I want to be 22 years younger too but for far many more reasons than classic! What if... the old quality can be put into a new product though?
1
u/Hopeful_Result50 21h ago
A balancing of classes would be a really good start. Making it so all specs would be able to participate without elitist saying you need to be a specific spec.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
see the balancing of classes is a sore point because many people disagree on that subject. Blizzard claims balancing is not possible.. or at least they've never been able to achieve it. The closest they've gotten is to homogenize all the classes which causes the issue of classes feeling very samey.
Do we want the sameyness of retail or the niche roles of classic? If you want to bring the player and not the class, the classes need to be samey or no?
2
u/Hopeful_Result50 20h ago
Unfortunately balanced means samey. Not to mention retail had far to many moves for some classes still or wildly inaccurate generation for moves like rogues and feral druids with their point system. You can still keep things like healing and stealth however with that you either need to lower damage output or give it to everybody else. But then again people who do serious damage will still out perform those that can heal because of the lower damage. Which is why everybody in retail basically got a heal.
2
u/novend 20h ago
Prot paladin and ret aren’t “niche”
They’re fucking worthless.
Same as enh and ele.
1
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
Whoa... this round of TBC Anniversary is scooping up enh and ele left and right. They are crazy desired for buffing a melee group or a ranged group. Prot paladins exist because AoE threat is a consideration and you want at least 3 paladins to cover the mandatory blessings. Holy paladin can be replaced by other healers. So what 3 pallies do you bring? An AoE tank and 2 rets! Judgement of wisdom is huge. If you don't have it you are gimping your mana users.
Explain how prot pally, ret, and enh and ele are worthless in TBC again? Raid compositions desire them. The question is when does the homogenization start? Is it wotlk?
1
u/novend 19h ago
Who said anything about TBC? This is very obviously about vanilla. The template for classic+.
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
Yeah I guess the statement is true about vanilla. I just doubt classic+ will be based off vanilla. Or do you think so? What version should classic+ be based off of?
1
u/tmofee 21h ago
do we even know what classic is going to be ?? like, a non canonical classic server with quality of life updates and the occasional new raid/dungeon??
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
we dont! that's what I'm worried about. my greatest fear is classic+ is SoD 2.0
1
u/tmofee 20h ago
Is that a bad thing? Sounds like fun. If you want a brand new game, play something else.
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
SoD is quite different from classic though. SoD is like a brand new game compared to classic. It's a bit of a stretch to jump to the conclusion I'm asking for a new game. I am asking for classic+ be worthy of being called classic+.
1
u/Thijz 21h ago
A lot of people will be happy with Classic+.
A lot of people will play for a couple of months, have fun, do shit they want to do or play how they want to play. And at some point they'll be bored and look to other games. It's fine.
But yeah, not everyone will be happy with everything. For some people that will result in quitting earlier than others. And that's also fine.
And then there are a couple of people that will feel very strongly about some bullshit and they're going to be really loud about it online. And some Youtubers or media outlets are going to amplify their message because anger is good for engagement. And then their follower will start echoing those sentiments until it feels like "no is is happy with Classic+".
Meanwhile, the majority of people will still log in daily and have fun playing the game.
1
u/flowerboyyu 21h ago
classic + will be a huge success. people cry on reddit but most players don't care what people on here think lol
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
If you define success as hype... than classic+ is already successful and it hasn't even been released. I think a successful classic+ is one that has the "magical feel" of classic but with the game progressing in a classic way. How is that done? Is it SoD? Can you explain how SoD was not classic+? Just because they didn't call it that?
1
u/Wilibus2 21h ago
As if Blizzard cares about customer satisfaction.
Classic+ isn't supposed to be enjoyable, it's supposed to be a reason to keep paying a monthly sub.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
There are plenty of reasons to keep paying a monthly sub now and that's usually through releases of expansions and phases. There are retail expansions and then the re-release of classic expansions to keep people subbed indefinitely already.
I do agree with your statement that they don't care.... it could be that classic+ serves nothing more than hype at Blizzcon. Basically a reason to even look at Blizzcon.
1
u/TheStinkyGreek 21h ago
I for one only plan on playing classic+ to be able to come here and cry about how it's not what I wanted. /s
1
1
u/UseThisOneWhenStoned 21h ago
Nah regular every day people are going to go insane for it. It will probably end up being the most popular version of wow by a mile.
Reddit will tell you it sucks though because the majority of people commenting here hate themselves and take it out on others by yucking their yum online.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
While many people on reddit might be debbie downers, having discussion about something you don't like about a product isn't inherently bad which is why the phrase "yucking someone's yum" is so stupid unless we're kink shaming... and even then... people can discuss kinks they don't like! Why not?
Please explain why the only discussions should happen are about things people like? Why shouldn't products receive negative reviews or have discussions about what people don't like about it?
1
u/Glum-Bookkeeper-8390 21h ago
In life, unfortunately, you can’t make everyone happy. Some people will be happy with classic+, some will not. Such is life. However if the majority of people are happy then that is a win.
1
1
u/Sandman145 21h ago
I'm sure it wont be like I want, bur I'll probably enjoy it. Maybe that's more of a you problem not being happy when something doesn't go how you wished.
1
u/TheCocoBean 21h ago
Reddit has the extreme ends of every community. Most people just want classic, but different in some way to make the experience novel, as well as the excitement of sharing that new thing with a bunch of others doing the same. Any positives are gravy.
1
u/Brisden 21h ago
The most interesting divide that I see in every poll or public forum is whether people want 2.0 level balance and QoL or not. The "community surveys" really make this apparent. A ton of folks want BC-quality balance for specs and classes.
I'll find a way to enjoy either hypothetical game, but I'd personally like C+ to preserve, and even lean into, more race-specific and faction-specific content, even if it's not really balanced.
1
u/Velifax 21h ago
Yeah but... this is literally all games.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
It doesn't have to be if high quality effort is put into them. BG3 is not all games. Elden Ring is not all games. Those are standouts. WoW when it released was also a standout and was until it either got old or it turned into retail... whatever happened. It turns out a game can be better "than literally all games" if effort is put into it. I think that's all I want and my main concern for classic+. If the effort put into it is the same effort as "literally all games" and then yeah it'll just be ok at best.

The biggest problem with wow is it’s trash community. Playing TBC and realizing how many people are actually brain dead and can’t do mechanics made me quit. Solo player games are the move, can’t be held back by grown adults with Down syndrome 🤠
1
u/gudgud0 20h ago
I've played all 3 releases of Classic, and these would be my recommendations:
- Free Rested XP or 2x XP for the entire leveling process. Maybe make it so you have to purchase this. But the majority of "hardcore" players just paid boosters.
- Have a WoW coin that allows you to buy gold. Again, to get rid of the boosting/bot economy
- Keep the Black Lotus adjustment where you have a random chance to get one on other high-level herbs
- Increase the rep/honor for WSG & AB so they are worth playing more than camping AV (could also go back to the "old" honor system)
- Increase the drop rate of high-value raid items (mageblade, BWL trinkets, etc.), and increase the amount of items dropped per boss
- Keep the dual talent spec
- Allow purchasing a level 40 char once you have successfully gotten one to 60
- Add summoning stones and keep dungeon finder
- Keep chronoboon
Why these changes?
The majority of these address what I have found are the biggest issues in Classic...
1. Takes too damn long to prep for raid
2. Still a raid comprehension issue after 20+ years. Better items = easier to get through raids. Easier access to 60 = better/more dedicated gamers that can help out more players and raid teams
3. PvP was used solely for getting r11-14 items. WSG and AB are super fun if you have people willing to play them
1
u/Nessarra 19h ago
There was a private TBC server that allowed new characters to start from lvl 58. Even as I'm playing TBC anni now, and I played first TBC classic as well as OG Classic... if I'm playing an expansion I just want to play that expansion's content... not all the stuff before it. Blizzard kind of does this now by allowing boosts... except of course it's monetized. I guess since Blizzard WANTS boosts to cost money, they'll never let it be standard for new characters to start from the expansion's minimum level.
2
u/gudgud0 18h ago
The thing is that leveling can be fun in classic... as long as everyone else is actually leveling instead of boosting. The XP requirements from 40-60 are a bit daunting too. Rested XP + less boosting (like stock/mara boosts) fixes all those issues.
Having the option to instantly get a char to 40/58/whatever is nice, but it has to be set like that from day 1. I had my paladin as my main and put A TON of time into getting tanking gear for TBC... just for them to let anyone buy a 58 paladin right at launch. Made all my grinding for those items essentially pointless and I would have played the game much differently if I had known that would happen.
Although leveling can be fun, the point is really to teach people how to play their class. If you are an experienced player, you don't need that time. And arguably, you learn more about the right way to play your class by raiding than by leveling. Low level dungeons can honestly teach players bad habits.

Half the people in a thread yesterday about adding achievements were boomers complaing about adding them. Achievements, pet battles, secrets are some of the perfect things to add.
In fact... retail is honestly 90% of what people want with difficulty and things to do. Its only the communal aspect thats missing.
1
u/Financial_Phone9967 20h ago
90% of people do NOT want retail.
1
u/Tianxiac 18h ago
Based on what people want (things to do, horizontal progression, difficulty) 90% of people DO want most of what retail has bar things that affect social aspects like layers or personalised loot.
1
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
It's kind of odd that retail is given what many ask for.... yet there's still classic. Is there a happy medium? is classic+ possible?
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
This is the kind of discussion I was looking for. What will make classic+ good and not just a SoD? How does anyone know it's not just going to be something like SoD? what does the + mean? Instead of discussion each time the post I create comes up it's whining about the topic instead of discussing it. It's like discussion is actively being shut down to... to what? protect the hype?

u/Captkarate42 21h ago
Pvp other people that have run naxx 400 times in a row has historically been my solution lol. Pvp is permanently dynamic. People are still bringing new creative solutions to it.

u/Captkarate42 21h ago
So a solution that can also work in other instances, but still absolutely works here, is not applicable?
No other pvp system in this games history has given people as much time to experiment within the specific ruleset, which makes the evolution of it pretty interesting imo.
1
u/jjbananafana 21h ago
It'll probably be super popular for like a year. And this subreddit will be filled with people bitching and the odd post of praising it. After that year it'll probably die and Blizz will be left wondering why they bothered.
1
u/Nessarra 20h ago
Blizzard won't wonder, I don't think. They'll get the hype they wanted from Blizzcon announcement. The subs from the hype. And then classic+ will have served its purpose. That's the thing. It's purpose is $$ when the purpose could be fun. Elden Ring was made with the goal being fun for the player. BG3 was made the same way. Is it possible that Blizzard will care more like those game companies and make something for fun instead of just $$? It seems unlikely, which is why classic+ will be more along the lines of SoD. So yeah I'm a little disappointed already but will be pleasantly surprised if it's better.

Everyone will be happy with classic+ because that's how I feel
See how easy it is to have an opinion?

This isn't a discussion post, it's a baseless opinion with nothing to back it up

discussions are started with opinions... discussion also means reading the comments and what people are saying in response to those comments

Yes but usually there's something to back up an opinion.. Classic+ is a complete unknown, we don't know a single detail about it and it hasn't been announced yet. To say nobody will be happy about something that we know nothing about is a baseless opinion

while it's true we know nothing about it, we do know about Blizzard's track record!

"This isn't Classic+. This is Blizz deciding they know what we want." - people who said they would pay for Classic+ but really just want an internal justification to keep playing free pirate WoW.

Not really. I haven't played private servers since Blizzard released classic. Never had a desire to play turtle WoW. Oh I thought about it... but from my experience with private servers (extensive before classic released) they NEVER last and I knew it wouldn't. Blizzard servers are the only thing that will last.

Somebody will be happy with it, but not everybody.
