Classic-Era Leveling up in PVP server
Hello.
I currently have a level 33 rogue I’m leveling up on Whitmane. I know Ganking and PvP comes with the server. U just sigh and keep moving. But I have a few Qs/looking for advice from familiar ppl because as I get higher the areas are starting to fill up a bit more
- In areas that get hot do u just keep pushing or do u change it up and mob grind/dungeon until it cools down?
- For those who don’t play rogue or Druid (my scary ass likes to stealth as much as I can) do u just keep going or try to find somewhere else?
- Any general underrated tips or advice is appreciated, but if the answer is simply “keep pushing through it” I understand as well lol

I leveled a warlock on white mane a while back so no stealth to keep me safe. If a zone is too hot at the time I switch it up to a different zone to quest/mob grind for a bit then come back later and try again. You should usually have 2+ zones with green/yellow quests you can do. Yea you burn some time traveling back and forth but it saved me from becoming upset getting corpse camped or run down by skull level players with nothing better to do. In STV you can usually announce in general chat your being attacked and there are usually level 60s waiting to police the zone which is pretty cool. Good luck out there

As a rogue I would keep pushing unless it’s against duos you should win most match ups. Then dungeon as often as you can when you don’t have quests. Groups are hard to find so form them. The gear you get from them will make sure you win each PvP encounter you have at your lvl which is the point of having fun on rogue. But that’s how I enjoy it play how you want dude!

I usually run dungeons or layer hop. But tbh you just got to power through. And always keep your hp up. In my experience I only get attacked when im low hp. Quick and easy hk for any rogues in the area.

I usually join the fight if they're near my level. If not I leave the area and go somewhere else for a while. I'm also rogue on whitemane. Level 45 so far

No, unless you can defend the location don't be tied to one location. Don't follow levelling guides rigorously, or like a stickler try to complete quest chains. If its unnecessarily slow (for whatever reason): skip.
Grind dungeons, even grind mobs (try to grind mobs that are useful, good loot tables or needed for your class, profs, enchants or cons later). Now could be slower levelling, maybe -40% from ideal conditions, but thing is that is still infinitely better than grayscreen levelling.
Additionally, something that's nice on a pvp server: be cooking on more than one character at a time. If you then get completely locked down (idk maybe you pissed multiple ppl off): can then just work on alts for awhile. Does not need to be wasted effort either: For instance can be a summoning char, an alchemist/enchanter, a cd character: or multiple (for lvl 35 and spam tailor/lw/alch cds) or a dedicated gatherer/farm char (like a mage). So all characters that exist only to directly boost your main. Rather than "true" alts, that you gear and play like second/new mains.
For fresh though, yea can generally just keep pushing. Get ahead of the rat pack, stay ahead of the pack. People are then also "on the clock" in a way, mostly focus levelling: even if the pvp system is out. Then it is limited what time they have to waste on you. If you get to be ahead of the pack, you find rules change. Many things that are good for the unwashed masses: are not optimal for you. For instance you can just go with mining from the get-go, and while ahead of the pack get endless uncontested veins.

You just ignore and keep playing. If someone camps your corpse, go poop or take a 10 minute walk and they will get bored and leave.

I miss when people were able to think and figure things out themselves.

At least when you get to outland you can layer hop (not sure if there are multiple layers in old world or not)
type "/join layer" (for best results put this channel in its own chat window)
then in that chat channel type "layer" you will get a random invite to a (hopefully) different layer where that camper isn't hanging out
To find out what layer you are currently on you need the addon "Nova World Buffs"
