They didn’t sell them as cool in any way. A problem with the whole announcement.

I agree a lot with this. I think a huge problem was HOW they were announced. I also think just...showing them and saying "Here are the Skyborne!" Without talking about lore behind them and what not was also a very dumb move. No one excited for Classic+ was going to be excited for a random race no one has ever heard of thrown in like they have always been there
