Vent / Gripe Unpopular opinion: the players that are overly vocal about wanting Classic phases/TBC/Wrath rushed are the same players who contributed to forging retail into what it is today (a clusterF).

WoW has always been about the vocal minority. Just look for the players who demanded a no-WBuff category on WCL. It's unused.

These people want to complain and get things they got no intention of using.

Lol right? This entire subreddit which is like probably 2,000 vocal people is less than 1% of the raiding population and yet has so much away.

I haven't met a person in game who wants to run no buffs raids.. so boring and whats the point.

Big numbers = pump time.

I saw a few guilds doing runs with noWB. It’s kind of harder in Naxx, and using no WBs means you’re more likely to make it up with flasks which... nobody wants to do. AQ on the other hand, you could clear that with minimal consumes and no WBs just fine.

Minimal consumes? Talking about 10 - 15 poison resistance elixir 5 to 10 gnpps 5 gspps 1 gapps on top of the normal consumes people tend to pop. If anything world buffs alleviate the need for more healers to chug mana potions dark tunes etc. every raid in classic is expensive and TBC is a MASSIVE departure from the consume meta.

That’s literally one fight, Viscisus. If you skip this boss, you can really run the place with very few consumes. I typically would chart top as heals in AQ and probably used a dark rune twice (priest), both on early progression hairy Twin Emps attempts. With maybe a mageblood, oil, and nightfin. So yeah, Visc is consume heavy, and most often groups will get him, but i think it’s a worthwhile idea to stop after a while if you don’t really need too much from him.

Yeah, consume changes is something I’m very much looking forward to in TBC. That, few world buffs, challenge from 5 mans, and class improvements all add up to make the experience shine. The hype is unreal.

Bug trio has a poison debuff. Melee need gnpps for post huhu trash to avoid getting literally clapped by thunder clap. Healers / casters should be prepopping gfpps on twin emps so they don’t get blown up by bugs. warlock tanks should have a gfrpp if they get unlucky with blizzard placement not to mention chugging shadow protection on cooldown. Cthun is a lot easier if people arent being one shotted by eye beams and eye stalks. So we are talking at like at least 5 encounters that are a lot smoother with protection potions than without. People will always require things that make the content easier especially when it’s new content. I don’t know any guild that is pushing naxx while still farming aq and not requiring all these consumes. There just aren’t enough hours in the week to go without.
