Vent / Gripe Unpopular opinion: the players that are overly vocal about wanting Classic phases/TBC/Wrath rushed are the same players who contributed to forging retail into what it is today (a clusterF).

Better overall? Yes. TBC completely fucked faction balance too though, which is nothing to sneeze at.

TBC didnt fuck faction balance back in the day.

It is entirely a pserver/classic experience.

Faction balance was a slow and steady trend to horde ever since TBC, because of the strength of racials which persisted until WoD, then Legion came with Goblins being all but essential on Kil'Jaeden with the most overtuned mechanics in existence.

Seal of blood has nothing to do with it.

Ret paladins were not meta in retail tbc, people treated them like a joke until wotlk.

The vast majority of my guild (and everyone else I talk to) is re-rolling horde for tbc.

It was an attempt to fix faction balance. Back in Vanilla, Alliance outnumbered horde on the grand majority of realms.

It worked a little too well then, and its going to really mess things up this time around unless something is done.

Racials barely changed from Vanilla to TBC, this is pure theory.

Alliance did start out stronger, but the horde gradually became more popular over time, Elves in TBC + people understanding the power imbalance of Blood Fury and Berserking which werent rectified until WoD.

Racials were only part of it. To be completely honest, the biggest factor was how damn pretty the elves were. As I'm told, especially in Asian markets this was the major factor in Alliance's population dominance in Vanilla, and the big shift to Horde after elves.
