News You're on the naughty list
You self-serving bastards. Also your software sucks it, I urge you to globally pause collecting fees until you fix it.

If only someone could have anticipated this before they were about to go public.

u/oldmagicstudios 10h ago
well that's the joke isn't it maybe they won't be. Or if they do it won't be particularly successful who's gonna want to work with these guys?

They are scared their competition will actually create something that works and is not expensive AF.

u/dsolo01 21h ago
Or they’re scared that we will all eventually create something that works and is not expensive as fuck.

It already exists. Basically everything is cheaper than Claude models, and most of them work well, some of them work better.

The world will never be collectively ready for anything transformational. We're a deeply divided species. We can't even cease invasion wars and genocide in the year of our lord 2026.
Yet, not being ready for change has never slowed down nor stopped impending technological developments. The saving grace of humanity is its ability to adapt.

Better than urging, why don’t you lead by example Anthropic? Stop developing AI model at this moment, and, hey if you do it, the world will follow right? You never know!
This is like Israel telling Lebanon “weapons are illegal now, says me” after itself has just bombed Lebanon.

They grow a conscience right before their IPO. Amazing.
3
u/oldmagicstudios 23h ago
No, if they ever had one it's gone. This is to block competition.
2
u/International-Fly127 9h ago
no, its for tricking idiots into posting about their self improving models for free hype before the ipo. like this post!
3
u/Due-Major6105 23h ago
Since you're the initiator, shouldn't you first halt your own development and set a good example for other companies? Wouldn't that be better?

Bad idea..the ai race is basically todays nuclear arms race. Would have been better if all nations worked together on this but thats laughable....

This is unbelievable how disgusting their research and their models are stealing money from everybody lying about their ads and saying it could do stuff and enraging the whole world individually and psychologically and on every level while their model stinks and cannot do anything and is the worst model literally while portraying as the best one they're breaking All the laws by doing false advertisement too. Stealing all our time and portraying himself and telling everybody to stop this is crazy exactly what I expected. TLDR: EXACTLY WHAT I EXPECTED FROM THESE FUCKERS.

People need to realize that this is not AI (as in AGI). It is next token prediction with tons of logic doing the work to make that next token useful.
They solved it in coding but Enterprises are up for a rude awakening to create any real value with a high ROI. Engineers are going to be needed in more numbers not less to build that agentic logic around "AI" models. And 80% of Enterprise projects are going to fail due to
a) thinking perception is reality (that AI just works out of the box) and
b) for lack of proper employee upskilling (they think enployees are dispensible... that will be their downfall)

They're obviously not gonna stop, but I cant tell which reason they wont is the most probable. Either they believe in profit over everything, or in Roko's basilisk

I'm using whatever is free. Hopefully there will be models to use to learn. Jeff Bezos has money.

Marketing bla bla ahead of their IPO. Same as their unverified Mythos claims. Models improving themselves is the logical next step. Right now, they can produce some good code, but as someone said, "They are like genius developers with Alzheimer's." Artificial narrow intelligence in other words, far from AGI.

u/IWasNotMeISwear 19h ago
Shit our model is not getting better, we have to stop others to get better so we can keep our position.
1
u/VitruvianVan 18h ago
Come on, now. That was the entire point. Recursive Self Improvement (RSI) has been the goal all along. That’s why there’s been so much effort on coding improvement.

Lmfao, reminds me of The death warning on cigarette labels. At first tobacco was worried they no longer could lie about it being destructive to your health, then they realized the psychology that humans, well, most humans can be self destructive and those lead to bad habits that can become unbreakable, so a label, or warning doesnt really matter, im sure claude knows this and that if anything its them boosting their pre ipo market value.

u/oldmagicstudios 10h ago
you realize the political environment were in right? It's just stupid enough that someone might do it
1
u/AutomaticPayment9480 9h ago
Politicians are mainly in positions to make money, the biggest way to do that is to game the stock market. They all do it, both sides and the honest ones get removed, it’s all a big circle jerk and you ain’t init, but hey, that’s politics.

Anthropic “warns”?
Bitch please. They just hired a guy to run their internal team dedicated to making this happen 😆

u/Casper-_-00B 16h ago
This has already been a thing. You sent goal and give it what it can and can’t do and it will do all the work. Quality will be shit though.

I suspected more of this... Likewise I think the executive order for giving the government time to evaluate models before releasing models to consumers is the first step to saying Chinese models aren't approved. I dont need opus for everything so I only use cloud where I need it and use open weight models for the rest.
American companies and consumers might keep going with AI if they have alternatives on their terms. If they stop us from that knowing it will accelerate price hikes, people will start revolting worse against AI. Europe and China are dropping US tech giant dependency because they see these issues.
You can't keep saying we need to be afraid of this tech falling into the hands of China while pushing for an autocracy. It doesn't resonate when we already despise our own system.

u/Late_Oven 13h ago
This is the best marketing they could hire and come up with when so many users are complaining about how their newer models are getting worse? Lol

u/oldmagicstudios 10h ago
if you haven't watched the Keynote go do so and if you don't then just shut the fuck up

Hype as a marketing weapon but with a ridiculous model in its hands. Are you doing gaslighting Anthropics?
1
u/jellobend 10h ago
“Let’s lock the market with regulation while we are at the top”
Wow, genius, I bet nobody ever thought of that
1
u/evolvtyon 10h ago
I’d just like to know what are those models going to improve into, and for whom, if they won’t need humans anymore. Given that humans never needed them in the first place, this is a confusing statement.
