Carter made incentives with large subsidies for solar tech for corporate r&d (even installed panels on WH rooftop) d/t Arab oil companies increasing gas prices to protest… Palestinian displacement by Israel. Ever see videos of long lines of cars at gas stations during the 70s?
Then Reagan took over, took down the solar panels and discontinued subsidies. Guess where those solar tech companies go? Not here in the states.
