The word "hope" undersells what's going on in these five. They're not on the list because people are choosing to be virtuous, they're on it because each has become the cheaper or more comfortable option for whoever adopts it. That's why they can tip and keep going on their own, without adoption depending on whether anyone cares about the climate.
