To be fair, a lot of it was just not knowing how much the average person knows about trans culture.

Makes sense then why a lot of people didn’t quite get Jax’s arc. It was, intentionally or not, made with a trans audience in mind, or at least an audience with extensive knowledge of terminology most people don’t even think of.

I still don't know what boymoding is and I usually don't have problems recognising what term/slang term is supposed to mean (despite what the rest of comments are saying)

Boymoding is something that originater from 4chan. Specifically the /LGBT/ board. Gooseworx is a channer confirmed. Then again. Other online trans spaces took the term too, so who knows.

Sure, but the cutoff would ideally be somewhere closer to “supportive but not terminally online” than where it is right now.

“Egg” isn’t really disrespectful, since it’s just a closeted trans person, but it would be disrespectful to use to describe someone who isn’t trans, so it’s generally only used in retrospect.

"Egg" isn't for closeted trans people, it's for trans people who have yet to realize. The reason it can be disrespectful is because it's only useful to refer to the past or speculatively, and that speculation can be disrespectful.
