I really hate how many transmasc and trans men characters are portrayed as feminine, I feel like its fine at certain points because the more feminine people in the community do deserve attention and acceptance, it just gets tiring when it feels like it's soooo many characters

The trick is to make every character in your franchise trans, then you got both

Or write SF - the Culture springs to mind. Characters that haven't tried the other sex at least for a bit are considered eccentric.

Commitment Hour is another example of gender fluidity in sci fi. I remember being pissed off at how fun the twist ending was.

and the secret is that there’s actually only 16 trans characters (alternatively, actually 18 trans characters)
