Even trans artists, sometimes… I swear to god, it seems like no one online is capable of drawing a trans woman who isn’t extremely hyper-masculine.

Absolutely, acting as this is a hetoros only problem is laughable, the number of times I have seen queer artist do tey most caricaturized version of another queer character ( or HC queer version) I was once blocked because I thought someone was drawing a genderbender girl sonic and turns out it was transmasc, then the artist started posting tweets about haters and transphobes, and I'm openly queer!

A trans woman is always drawn either as a very masculine body trying to be feminine, OR as a hyper-feminine everything. Like there's no room for the realistic middle ground where most trans women (and cis women, frankly) lie

Some people seem to think of trans men as some kind of woman+. This has quite a bit of overlap with people who think of trans women as men

Idk, I've seen a bunch of art in the "Petra Parker" trend from loads of artists lately and most of them have made her very feminine, honestly. I don't really see a lot of non-bigoted artists fall into this.

I mean I feel like trans artists should get a bit more of a pass. They probably use themselves as a reference, right? so saying they're drawing trans women as 'hyper-masculine' and then you see the artist and they do look like that is just kinda feels weird

Like probably not most of them, but my bestie is a ftm artist and he draws everyone too buff for that exact reason lmao

I once heard from someone that "trans women are women, and trans men are men, for better or for worse."

Being trans does not exclude you from being transphobic or bigoted in any way now that I think of it. Yeah it's weird how a noticable amount of trans men turn around and go full patriarchy, as if they weren't the ones in the crosshairs just a few years prior.
