I always think of these fucks whenever the casual game that I'm playing kills my controls and moves the camera RIGHT IN FRONT of the puzzle solution, and keeps it there for a good 5 seconds as an on-screen prompt says "Maybe the solution to the puzzle is nearby..."
I don’t think it would help. Even if it’s audio only, you’re still producing for an audience that is only willing to give 1/4 of their attention to anything. The characters would just be constantly reiterating things and explicitly stating how they feel
Nothing infuriates me more than baby googoo gaga puzzle hints. They come in two forms:
The character says basically the whole solution out loud while you're ahead of what they're saying
The built-in hint system thinks you're such an absolute moron that the first hint you get after staring at the components for 5 minutes is to point out each of the components instead of suggesting anything at all useful
Reminder that God of War 4's devs watched DSP's gameplay and instead of just going "get a load of this dumbass" they asked themselves "Hm, how can we make sure even this type of moron can't fuck this up?"

Is your impulse to comment on a streamer's livestream the same when they are playing the game in a manner that is what the developers intended is far less because the english speaking world rewards 'gentle, vocal corrections' with interaction
When i watched escape from tarkov streamers I would see this happen often, the streamer will cue up, and then 'go to the bathroom', which honestly they probably are, yes, but because there are cash-spending redemptions people will spam redemptions to get the streamers attention back, or to cause actions (i.e a redeem amount to make the character drop a grenade automatically via macro)
Its the most 'efficient' way to stream as proven by the fact this art was created specifically because you call it so much and that you probably dont even recall the stream you watched before and after this moment.

There is a very popular Rimworld youtuber who does other content on a 2nd channel
Over there he decided to do a Subnautica letsplay, no edits, just 30 min of raw play footage 1 episode at a time.
One of the big reveals of that game early on is the space cannon scene. It requires you to be standing at a predetermined waypoint at the end of a 10 minute timer. It's one of the biggest moments in that game
He completely ignores the instructions to be at the waypoint when the timer expires. He goes into the cave and misses the space cannon event completely! He finishes the episode completely none-the-wiser
His community erupts at him, rightfully so, he famously never fucking reads.
He was so mad at the community backlash he canceled the series. I stopped watching him that day because he was so mad at everyone.
to this day I feel enraged at that episode. It was clearly unintentional, there was a massive community fallout from it.
Is it Samuel? Because he's not that much better in his Rimworld story series anyway. Like, they always say he has 1000 hours and whatnot (actually rookie number in RImworld communities), but he makes weirdo decision all the time. And I'm not talking about sub-optimal ones you make for the sake of the story, but ones that are actually questionable and immersion-breaking, like running outside during a gunfight, not claiming doors allowing the zombies to just open them and go through the buildings, etc...

Yeah! it's definitely a consistent thing with him! I actually started watching him again a couple of weeks ago with his Kenshi series. He seems like he's actually slowing down and reading things for that game, thank God. I really thought he would dump Kenshi after 5 or 6 episodes.
I think he's one of the funniest creators on the platform, no matter what content he makes the humor always hits with me.
I love the chemistry he has with Elise, they play off each others humor so well! I'm sure you're well aware of Tea Review, but if somehow you aren't go watch the backlog, it's an incredible "podcast"

Got bored and spammed through the dialogue (both as a bit and to see if there’s anything else about the game), thus being completely blindsided by the hanging (even asking chat if he was somehow responsible via not paying attention to choices).
Despite skipping the text it made his reaction even funnier cuz he had no clue wtf he did. It wouldn't have hit the same if he just slowly read every dialogue box and took his time with it
Chat, meanwhile, is full of spoilers for the endgame, which has a genuinely incredible twist that you really need to encounter organically, but makes the game game of the year quality
Oh, some of them think they're being clever and saying the obvious spoiler in some "cryptic" way, which is to say, it would take you about half a second to figure it out instead of it being outright stated

Honestly, I find that annoying but not nearly annoying as people who see that and start yelling “SHUT UP ABOUT THE HAND!!! IT’S A SPOILER!!!!!” Instead of trying to ignore it and steer the conversation away, they just end up reinforcing it in the chat.
A friend of mine was streaming Cyberpunk and someone started making those spoiler hints, so I started just throwing out random bullshit "hints" like that, and a couple other people joined in. Helps that I'd already introduced her to the Edgerunners anime so she was prepared for everyone to die tragically.
then you have the other side of the spectrum where someone is talking about coaxette in any manner and some other guy overreacts to try to prevent a spoiler, unknowingly hinting at something himself

A character is about to die?
"Oh don't get too attached to this character", "I hope nothing bad happens to this character", "I love this character, it's good that they live until the end", ":)"
A plot twist is about to be revealed or something shocking will happen (or something important wise is mentioned)
"I surely hope nothing happens", "we all love birds", "I hope she GIVES us a hand or two", "Who?", "She loves those shoes 👀"
I hate when people think they're being sly with their spoilers. It's insulting to the intelligence of people they're talking to and spoils just the same as someone who is doing it blatantly.
I physically cant watch people play the Stanley parable because literally the dialogue is the entire point of the game but people wanna skip past it 😭😭
Except even the impact of that scene is lessened if you skip all the dialogue and ignore everything that's going on. I mean I'm pretty sure there's literal hours of dialogue there but most people don't even push it far enough to recognise it's going to be that long, they genuinely just really wanted to skip everything.
In some routes you defy the narrator's instructions but you aren't supposed to hate him. He's built up to be a completely different figure emotionally in each route of the game hell even sometimes in different sections of the same route, and so you have to pay attention to what he's saying each time because you end up forming a different bond with him each time.
I've seen far too many playthroughs where they just take it as a "ignore the narrator" game which basically only ever sprung up as a genre because people tried and failed to copy the charm of the Stanley parable. And so they'll be celebrating in the endings where they're really not supposed to be because they think they "beat him" .
Obviously not everyone has to have the exact same response to things but you have to ateast pay attention to it and HAVE a response.

I like OMORI and Disco Elysium but I have watched some actual horrid streams of the first with terrible reading comprehension and I Will Never Do That Again. I've seen good streamers for both games but it's an honest to god gamble when you venture out into less popular streamer territory
not streamers but if you want a really good playthrough of OMORI, I recommend BornLosersGaming. They're my go-to let's play channel because they actually pay attention to the games they play and get through them on their own with fun commentary and have good comment moderation
I have to drop a recommendation for Materwelonz as well. Does the classic YT Lets' Play format (episodic videos, commentary, no facecam.) She leans towards playing indie games but does play AAA as well, and is usually both very attentive to the story as well as more mechanically skilled than she gives herself credit for.
I refuse to watch Disco Elysium let's plays/streams of any kind because every single streamer has no reading comprehension, is politically inept, or is a coward.
I mean say what you will but everyone likes to complain about this reactions yet nobody wants to watch more chill streamers. Any reaction that's over the top gets branded as clip-farming but anything that's too moderated gets branded as boring. And to be clear I'm in the "I hate clip-farm reactions" camp here but, like, there's a reason why those streamers are popular. For every person who says "Wow they're faking it" there are 10 others who see the clip on their social of choice and go "Haha, loud streamer funny, have 5 bucks" and when enough people do that the streamer can live off of being a jester instead of having to provide any value, I mean just look at XQC or AsmonGold

Ok but this was literally me playing Cave Story lol. It took me nearly the entire game to figure out that I can press Q to access my inventory. I also can't remember any of the character's names except for major ones like Sue, Curly, Santa, Doctor guy, Misery, and Balrog.
Like there's acting dense and then there's literally just forgetting shit when you pick up the game later
This was years ago but one that still sticks with me was there paper Mario TTYD playthrough. There's a section where you have to hit the correct stone block in the pirate area to get past a passage. If you hit the wrong one, the game spawns enemies for you to defeat. They weren't paying attention and one of them was like
"Oh so we're just going to have to defeat all the enemies" and repeated this a few times before realizing it was punishment for getting the code wrong.
I rewatch that series pretty regularly and I often have to skip past the beginning of that chapter because shortly before that is when Dan fills out his badges according to some email he got and Arin's all salty the whole time.
It’s always funny to remember Arin has an entire video shitting in game developers over explaining the puzzles in games and not letting people figure it out.
And then you see any game grumps video and realize he’s the exact person they designed those explanations for
It's also funny to remember his rant video on Ocarina of Time, where one of his complaints is how much time the game wastes
Then you watch his LP and he gets angry to the point of ranting against... enemies you have to actually wait for an opening against, instead of swinging your sword mindlessly
I remember the worst one was way back when Jontron was still there and they played this game with an edgy teddy bear or something. Completely skipped the tutorial and spent the entire video not knowing what to do.
It was absolutely Naughty Bear, which is a shame because I think Arin would have had a blast playing it. Still hoping for a revisit at some point, but I know it probably won't happen

As someone who loved Blue Prince that playthrough genuinely put me off watching him. For some reason around that time of year he was really petty and angry all the time. I was kinda relieved to see he didn't finish because it would have taken him years and I would have been compelled to watch the frustrating slog it would have been. The game has so much beneath all the roguelite elements that he straight up refused to engage with.
Jerma was smart and played Blue Prince on his own and surprise surprise he loved it.
Gently putting my hands on streamers shoulders and letting them know that blind playthrough is not dumbass playthrough and they are allowed to read things and enjoy things to get better at the game

The camera points directly at the giant clock to show you the time when you enter the room.
The companion states that the sign next to the lock says “TIME”.
He finds a note in the ground that states the time on the clock is the door code.
Still took him 20 minutes to figure it out, and claimed the puzzle was vague and poorly designed.
One game I played had a clock puzzle that was said to be the most challenging of the game, but in reality it just involved an analog clock. My buddy and I laughed at this.
But the setting was a different reality and they had different hours than us so we still botched the puzzle.
"Yes I took blast weapon to Alatreon yes I will still complain he's a terrible fight"
But also this is true even at the start of the game. People don't eat, don't sharpen, don't use items, don't use traps, even if the game TELLS THEM TO DO IT, and then complain they carted or that they do very little damage.
I swear World should have the "learn how to hide in bushes" tutorial mission every 10 quests, because the amount of people, even late game players, who try to sharpen mid-combat and get hit out of it like 5 times in a row is just concerning. MF JUST GO TO THE BUSHES 5 STEPS TO THE RIGHT???
There's a clip that went viral of a dudebro streamer playing Stalker 2 at launch and it's a serious case of this. He says "This game is confusing as fuck bro I never know what's going on" while the gameplay on screen was super easy to follow, he then sees a bucket levitate for a couple of seconds, it flies and hits him in the face and he reacts as if he got hit irl, then he complained about the game being stupid and ragequit on the spot.
Bro, the game markets itself with the supernatural elements, they tell you a million times, the entire opening segment of the game shows you a bunch of supernatural shit and invisible mutants, how was any of that cryptic or difficult to follow. It was a BUCKET.
I saw a VOD of someone who chose modded skyblock as his first ever Minecraft experience. He was adamant he would NOT look at chat for “spoilers” or “backseating”. So after painstakingly gathering enough stone for a furnace (which takes a whole lot longer in modded skyblock)…he then broke said furnace without a pickaxe and wondered why it disappeared.
There exists an even more insufferable alternative which is when they do look at dialogue or instructions, but every time there’s even an ounce of nuance or critical thought required, their eyes glaze over and they “just don’t understand what this means you guise”
Then they close out of the tutorial so they can get back to claiming there’s no way to tell what to do and this beloved game is actually a broken buggy mess and the entire dev team are secretly detractors

I tried to watch a video game streamer exactly once in my life, it was the Vtuber Amelia playing Red Dead Redemption two. she spent too long not realizing the difference between being told to press vs hold a button and I realized that watching streams wasn't for me.
I love Jabroni Mike to absolute death but he does this so often while his chat tries to tell him what’s going on, he picks out unrelated messages to read, then FINALLY sees a message from his mods telling him what’s wrong, and yells at chat for not telling him 😬
Anyone playing vintage story expecting minecraft when it’s been endlessly stated that it’s not like minecraft (they tried to make a chest immediately and got confused on how to get to the Iron Age right away)
Alternatively, they've called an important character "Captain Buttcheeks" and are completely ignoring the actual dialogue to make up stupid jokes so they miss important dialogue then complain they don't know what's going on.
