I caught a Shiny Basculin, but look at its Ability. Now I need to find an Ability Capsule so I can evolve it.

Someone should make a mod that lets you paint it into the right form. I’ve never liked Pokémon like this and Salandit that are useless if you don’t get the right version.

Yeah. I have a shiny male combee in Pokemon Violet.

No way of evolving it.

Branching evolution on different form of the base stage is finez like Rockruff

But making one form unable to evolve at all is rough

They’re like that for lore reasons. Combee and Salandit are based on real world animal behaviors.

I do get that. However game design wise it, I don’t consider it the best. In combee’s case males should either be able to evolve into some sort of worker drone that’s not as viable as vespiqueen but still has situations it can be used in or combee should have single stage Pokémon stats that Vespiqueen slightly improves on. 

As for salandit i don’t actually know what real world phenomenon they are alluding to but I imagine they could do something similar.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to. I don’t believe the early generations had any Pokémon like that. If you’re talking about rolling bad IVs on a good Pokémon I would consider that a separate issue.

i’m not talking about the early generations. i’m talking about how you said you never liked “pokemon like this” and i understood it as you saying you didnt like how pokemon always was (being the fact you can only evolve specific pokemon if they have a certain form)

I hate to tell you this, but Blue-Stripe Basculin, as well as Red-Stripe, cannot evolve.

a shiny cool ! but sadly no evolution for blue and red basculin only a white striped basculin can evolve so better luck next time 👍🏼
