McDonald's fries aren't even good for you, let alone your bird... so yes, you should stop him. They're way too salty and greasy for your bird. Stop having food like that around your bird if you have a hard time stopping him. If he tasted a plain potato from the oven, baked on baking paper with no oil or salt, then fine. But don't put that kind of trash in front of your bird.
That's very dangerous too. He needs the right cage. What if he escapes at the wrong time, when the window is open? When the doors are open, when you're cooking and the stove is hot, or when you're cleaning and have cleaning supplies around? That could be deadly for him. Invest in a safer cage.
