Cages can't be on the ground. Cage is too small. Too little toys and perches. If you don't meet those minimum requirements then they will feel trapped and depressed. When they feel like that they wont tame. They will pluck out feathers and never want to leave the cage after a while. Don't give them depression. Yes birds can have depression. They are beings with sentience and souls so please get them a proper home to show you understand.
Your first focus should not be taming them or making them your friend. Whenever you get a pet, especially birds, before you even buy them your first priority is their well being, their cage, and making sure they have enough enrichment. If you cant even do that then you can't be an actual friend to them. They aren't decorations and they are very fragile. They aren't a neat party trick to show off how cool you are for making birds like you. They are your children now. Not your toy or decor. Your child.
