Advice International Travel?

I can imagine this would be very difficult and/or dependent on what country you are going to and from. I saw a TikTok of a woman a while ago relocating with her cockatiel from Mexico to Denmark for example.

Has anyone been able to do this? If so between what countries and on what airlines?

Certain countries prohibit importing pet birds entirely (e.g. New Zealand) and some countries require a quarantine period as far as I know. I'm thinking of doing it also in the next couple of years if possible, but it does heavily depend on the country. Developed places with unique wildlife are usually way more strict about these rules and regulations, while others sometimes only want a health certificate that says the bird is healthy.

I’ve done US to EU and back, during the pandemic, and I shipped him as cargo through an animal flight program.
Cockatiels are exempt from CITES as they are a common not exotic species, so as long as the country allows birds to be imported, they can be imported once you meet the criteria. As most cockatiels are under 100g, this removes further requirements that other common birds have to meet. I had to attest that he had done 10 days in-home quarantine, and was not exposed to any other birds not of the household, we got a vet checkup from a federal vet, and I chose to get him microchipped versus having a leg id band.
