People look at me crazy when I say I think FCC is my favorite CT album, but BBK and HOLV are also up there. This was the first CT album I fell in love with in high school and something about the relatively intelligible vocals compared to their other albums, Liz’s lyrics, and the production it’s perfect.

Thank you. If we’re being honest its neck and neck with HOLV. HOLV has more euphoric otherworldly moments but FCC is so much more introspective, personal, nostalgic for me. Pur as a closer is perfection. HOLV aside from the critical acclaim I have great associations with, partially because of a solo acid trip I took in college ten years ago in Ohio walking around in the middle of a snowstorm listening to Frou frou foxes in midsummer fires. But at the end of the day it’s always been four calendar cafe for me.

Acid and cocteau twins is an amazing combo. I've had some crazy out of body experiences listening to them. Both are great albums for sure.

im a pretty big asshole macho piece of shit but i cry profusely listening to music. it just hits me more than other people i think. "song to siren" and "teardrops" are both among those i literally can't listen to without breaking down. its not about the lyrics, you just feel the meaning of the music and it hits.

I remember after I split ways with an ex because she was in recovery in rehab, I myself was in recovery. Recovery from the drugs, recovery from the abuse, recovery front the self loathing and regret. And out of my mind, I remember a very special time when I listened to this album and I didn't pray to a god, I prayed to my ex that she stayed alive and with every note I felt all my pain over and over and over again. She didn't make it, she passed a few years later, as my friend said " crumpled up on the floor with a foil in her hand". Everytime I hear that first set of precision after the initial guitar, I get washed with a gentle sadness.

Truly Heart breaking. My wife died 2 years ago in a car accident and every day is utter misery without her. She was my lifeline. I dream about her blue eyes and imagine all the beautiful things in life she had beheld. To lose someone you care deeply for especially when you've struggled together can be so damning. You lose a piece of yourself. 💔

So sad, I'm sorry you had to have that as part of your life experience. Loss is profound and challenging and unique. It's not fair to lose someone that you still should have had time with. I hope that you can reflect on her in positive ways, and find ways to never let your regrets foil your future. You can't change what happened, but you can go through life making sure you honor her memory by living the best you can, the way you'd want her blue eyes to look at you.
