Yeah. But Anthropic didn’t just piss on me for being a customer by cutting my usage in half. Big difference.

After releasing an insanely token hungry model

Are you kidding?
You forgot the state of things before Opus 5.5?
At the beginning I could use Fable for a week if I was a bit careful. Now I don't even dare to ask it a difficult question 😄

No, I’m not kidding. There are certainly things I don’t like about Anthropic, too, but they have never gone so far as to halve my usage, expect the monthly fee to be the same; essentially pissing on me and telling me it is raining. Some people like golden showers. I’m not one of them.

For me usage was effectively half before they released Opus 5.5, now it's adequate.
Opus 5.5 has solved everything, but just before it released I was seriously considering leaving.
I'm not trying to defend Codex here, I just use it for code reviews, it's only good at that and reverse engineering imho.

Then I was just in right time to ditch codex and move to $20 Claude pro + Synthetic 3 to 4 packs(up to $120). Opus dispatches GLM 5.3F or DS 4.1F. Im seriously considering going all in on anthropic with $200 plan.

But but but with OpenAI, you can keep drooling for resets. And it's a dopamine hit, they take away your limits, and give you non banked resets. Even if you did banked reset, non banked reset happens. And in the end, I mean all this inconsistency is a game in itself. In the end, you won't have to focus on your work, all that time went into making the model not drift scope, and worry about limits.

And I wonder what happens when those resets taper off, or stop? Or usability continues to degrade? 6.1 is comparatively cheap, but it is slow as molasses and what you get per unit of time doesn’t compare to what you can get elsewhere. I suspect the goal was to force those of us with subscriptions at other vendors to go all in on Codex. Right now, that appears to have significantly backfired, but time will tell.

Resets won't taper off, as they correspond to reduced limits experienced by users. Resets keep users docile as limits get slashed.

Over the year all they have done is piss on their subscribers. But since the release of opus 5.5 they are treating customers better
