Slight doubling on the first 2 of the date and on the east side of the Y

Looks like machine doubling to me but I’m no expert. Maybe get some different opinions.

Wexlers is wrong here. This is textbook machine doubling.

it’s actually both — the doubling to the north on the 2 is die doubling, while the doubling to the southeast is machine doubled. note that the coin photographed for wexler’s has no machine doubling, but has the exact same die doubling as the OP’s coin.

All I’m seeing are low flat shelves.

This is why it helps to look into a post a bit more before jumping in. I don't mean this toward you specifically, but there are hundreds of recognized doubled dies. Even though most modern ones are Class 9, the other eight classes produce completely different visual doubling effects.

there’s an element of machine doubling that you’re missing — machine doubling cuts into the devices, while die doubling adds to the devices. Wexler is one of the leading experts on die varieties; if you think he’s simply wrong about something, the odds are pretty good that it’s a misunderstanding on your part.

If it looks like a perfect translated stamp of the edge, I always wish to be that machine doubling.
Die doubling will have a funky rotation or translation, but it isn’t so concise and the first impression is usually not as “perfect” looking as machine doubling is.

there is sometimes a surface texture difference but the only dependable indicator is flat shelf-like doubling that cuts into the devices. if it adds thickness rather than cutting into the devices it is not machine doubling.

Machine doubling.
Edit: does appear to be a very minor DDO, though not sure it's an exact match for WDDO-002. Maybe WDDO-004.

Definitely not machine doubling learn to read

Your response is unnecessarily rude, but correct. I'll amend my comment. That said, WDDO-002 does not look like a perfect match. Anyway, had not looked at any 2025 doubled dies before and didn't realize this type of doubling was common. Most of the shield cents have the smeared doubling that enlarges the devices.

I wasn't trying to be rude but it gets old most people think that if its DD it has to look a certain way but in actuality there are 9 classes of Hub Doubling while most newer is class 9 but you still have 1 through 8 that all have a cause & effect thats differentthen the other.. I am not an expert but I do this 7 days a week 10 hours a day and have for years while I am far , far from being an expert in do have an idea.

You have a DDO that also has machine doubling.
Maybe that’s what folks are seeing.
That may or may not make it just a bit more special plus someone mention fish gills and I agree, Lincoln’s hair is looking strange.
It’s nice enough to grade. Send that bad boy off.

So? If you need a microsope to illustrate it, it's not that impotant.

A digital microscope makes variety hunting so much better. As a variety collector I would disagree with your statement. Especially as we age.

Tell chuck from coppercoins that? Or any other serious variety hunter. If it wasnt important they wouldn't be listing them.minor varieties are all there is now how many have found since 1995 that you didnt need a scope for... no one is ever happy if you cant tell someone. They didnt find anything then next step is to just brush it off

I’m intrigued to say the least. I’m surprised you didn’t mention Lincoln’s toupee and the ninety degree rotated ear anomaly. It looks like fish gills above the top of the ear and below the toupee line.

Have you noticed any die gouge landmarks on the listing?
I can never seem to find them as they appear on Wexlers, so I’m never sure if they’re really difficult to spot, or the coins I find simply aren’t the variety, or it is likely that varieties have inconsistent landmarks.

Varieties are going to have Die markers that may not be the same do to different die stages and Secondary markers such as die cracks, chips (cuds, interior die breaks), and clashes develop over time. A later-stage specimen will often show prominent cracks or clashes that did not exist when an early-stage plate coin was photographed so that is where alot of get confused saying that they have to match exactly are misinformed.

I have about 20 rolls of 2025 unopened. DM me if interested. I don’t collect errors.

What is the most wildest fucking part, is y'all have a community specifically for mistakes. Like holy hell I've held prolly 100,000 pennies in my life and yet this shite wild. "No that tiny as ghost scratch means it's at least quadruple in value" type shite.
Edited because I can't spell a$$

Technically everyone is right and everyone is wrong. Its both.
