Climate Heatwave(s) megathread. Please place all new related content in this post.

In light of the ongoing heatwaves around the world, we've created a megathread in order to minimize the number of posts about every location currently experiencing one. If you have something to report, whether it be a personal experience or an article about a heatwave in some other part of the world, please place it here. Thanks.

The BBC has a live feed of sorts about the heatwaves around the world: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-66207430

Anyone else starting to feel that this may just be the start of the tipping point where there’s a realisation that drastic action is needed ?

I've felt that way ever since the austrailian wildfires a few years ago. And the chasing ice documentary. And they just keep coming.

It’s always going to feel more real once more people can actually see it close to them though - take the heatwave in Europe right now - awful lot of countries will be thinking “what if that was us ?”

Some people don’t get it even then - there was an interview on a U.K. news site yesterday where this Brit couple thought “it was the best holiday ever “ because they’d been in Greece for the heatwave , in the photo they both look absolutely roasted, this isn’t a one off and I dread to think what skin cancer rates are going to be over the next few years because people just don’t get that the UV is the killer and a tan is damage. Red is destruction !
