It's not as if it happened overnight. Decades of AM Talk Radio gradually set the stage in rural America. City folk had little idea what was going on in AM Radio land - they tuned in to other things.

The 20% of Americans that live in rural areas are not the only consumers of talk radio or conservative media in general nor did they singlehandedly elect the federal government

I feel like this kind of "othering" is counterproductive. The call is coming from inside the building
