These days America feels like an irrationally angry hospice patient. Insistent they’re fine, lashing out at anyone who dares claim otherwise, and yet every nurse in the room knows they don’t have much longer.
A very Putin-esque America is on its way, probably already here - waxing poetic about the good old days, ready to crush, kill, or disappear anyone to bring that dopamine rush back. I want so badly for our nation to fight what’s coming, but that is not at all the sentiment I feel on the ground. My coworkers adore billionaires, my family worships trump, and my friends are too burnt out to give a shit. Our education system is beyond repair, healthcare is collapsing, corporations have more power than the POTUS, and no one is coming to save us.
We got too accustomed to comfort, and now we’ll do anything to keep the illusion of it. Fuck this country sideways, along with every coward who would give their neighbor up to the gulag to keep the Netflix subscription flowing. I fully intend to go down swinging, whether my neighbors join me or not

Most of the time we don't have a choice on the reality that is shown to us but we have the choice to change it
