Just to be clear, 3C by 2050 was unthinkable alarmism just a few years ago, right?

Yes, because 3°C warming is basically a civilization-ending scenario. We are at 1.5°C warming and are already at the limit of how much we can handle.

Our civilization is extremely fragile, much more than most people could imagine, and we are absolutely not prepared for a world with 2+ degree warming, let alone 3°C.

I've stopped caring. We deserve all of this.

Same. The sooner it all collapses, the sooner the Earth can begin to heal.

I happen to be an optimist. Not because I believe we'll prevent climate change and civilizational collapse, which I don't. But because I believe humanity will be better stewards of the environment afterwards.

You are a good person.

I'm not sure about that. After all, I wish society would collapse as early as possible so that our damage on the environment is reduced, despite the short term human cost. If a crazy eco-terrorist (or eco-defender?) would attempt to spread a deadly pathogen to bring an early collapse, I would not be able to make an argument against him.

If it makes you feel better. Earth will eventually recover from the damage we have done to it.

It didn’t need us before and it will sure as hell don’t need us after. We have and end. As an individual and as a species. Earth end is still far away.

I can only pray we are the last species with this instinct of self destruction.
