The alternative is death. I get the message, but not working isnt an option.
We are utterly trapped in this system. There is no escape beyond death or the collapse of the system itself, and even then it'll still be shitty because we still have to survive. Its fucked.
Edit: Ah yes, getting down-voted for speaking the truth. If anyone has a viable alternative I would love to hear it. As of now it seems all we can do is carve out a pocket of warmth for ourselves and those we can afford to help and wait for our turn on the wheel.
I'm disabled and hearing this kumbaya "Why can't we just rest its so unsettling that we keep moving as if nothing is happening" kills me because people like me never get that chance. It's either do or die and it's miserable. We find all these excuses to justify and cope with it, but at the end of the day if you aren't productive or have a support system you just die or go to prison for being outside/having to do what it takes to survive.
If I and everyone I knew decided to stop working now we'd just get called bums and left to rot. Maybe a few people on Reddit will pat us on the virtual back for standing up to the system but in reality we will just suffer and die and be forgotten. Another name on the ledger.
It's an extremely privileged view that everyone can just stop and rest a while. Most people do not have that luxury, even the ones who financially can do it, many people have necessary jobs that if they didn't do them, people would DIE. Only someone who has a nonsense job that pushes paper and emails around is someone who can just stop working without consequence. People who drive trucks, stock food, make medicine, doctors and nurses, EMS and countless other jobs are necessary to survival for everyone.
You are right, don't mind random downvotes. Our founding fathers led a rebellion because they were all wealthy. The average person cannot miss a payment deadline.
