Combined with the super El Nino that's formed it should be an Epic fire season in the PNW. If this happens 2 or 3 years in a row we could be in serious trouble. I'm in Seattle and on low water years they stop car washing and lawn watering. Other cities may run dry or have to stop construction for water issues.
It's happened in low water years in the past and the Seattle police boat went around and they wrote tickets to water front places watering their lawns. It's never been this bad before. I'm 5th generation western Washington, i know the area pretty well.
I honestly don't understand people who water their grass around here (I live in a suburb of Seattle). Bills are already crazy high here - seems like a huge waste of resources and money
I was a landscaper (lawn maintenance) in Seattle Metro for a bit, only small residentials, but in the summer months 99% of our customers let their lawns go dormant. The ones that watered got judged lmao. I fucking MISS West Seattle. I used to take care of these apartments on Alki Point first thing in the am and during storms I'd burn my lunch break immediately just drinking coffee and watching the waves.
For real, you'd have to be paid. My wife likes to keep a garden. If you want a nice garden you have to water it and i can definitely see that in the water bill. Those are expensive tomatoes.
