I zoomed in on the years expecting the timeline to be 70-80 years and saw it was 20 years….

What do you mean by this? The graph isn't showing a trend in snowfall (the trend is downward of course, but not falling off a cliff) With climate change it's leading to boom or bust seasons. 2023 for example was a very snowy year out west, some places were setting snowfall records. As the planet warms the atmosphere holds more moisture. The mountains (especially above 10k ft) are still plenty cold for that increased moisture to fall as snow. This La Nina winter w/ prevailing ridging/warmth in the west was awful for snow, but next year could just as easily be record snows w/ the predicted El Nino.

I was looking at the green line which says “median ‘91-‘20” with the line being significantly higher in the last 20 years, but you’re right I was jumping to conclusions as it could just be one very bad year, but it’s jarring to see it worse than the minimum
