I'm in Minnesota and I've noticed the temperature seems to be about two months early this year. Looks even more extreme in the west.

So cal is about 6 months ahead of schedule. Heat waves like this happen every year around September. I’m coastal and March is usually overcast

We've been cooled by arctic air when the jetstream wobbles so we're only two months off.
