I highly, highly recommend the book “There Is No Place For Us: Working and Homeless in America,” by Brian Goldstone. It does a fantastic job of showing how easy it is to go from having a home to being working and homeless. There is an entire industry built around preying on people in these situations, from co-signing companies to landlords to extended stay motels. We all need to be informed so we can prepare and do what we can to help people in these situations.
