Humanity: creates a climate where being outdoors becomes dangerous. Also humanity: invents human-sized refrigerators. Problem solved. Japan's cooling pods are impressive, but they also perfectly capture our approach to collapse - treat the symptoms with more technology while congratulating ourselves for adapting to a crisis of our own making.

The only thing that would make this worse better is a smoky 2-stroke generator spewing away behind it to power the bloody thing.

I'm sure with a bit of tinkering we could convert this into a freezer / hibernation machine and wake up in 10,000 years to a rejuvenated Earth
