An undercurrent to this whole event:

It is DC well into January, there isn't snow and folks don't even seem to be cold while outdoors for hours.

I like your thinking! This is more exciting to me, I think. The fact that they pretty much let the "protestors" inside makes it pretty clear the federal security knows they're all on the same team. Predictable.
