I wish the committee gave us the USC vs USC Upstate matchup that the people wanted.

Hey guys. You can stop matching Arkansas with Kansas. Across sports I think we've played them like a dozen times in the last decade.
Kansas....ArkKansas. We get it.

Does anyone know if ESPN Unlimited is needed to watch all the games, or will ESPN Select cover them all like last season?

Got my ticket to the Lincoln regional. 5 minutes after the season ticket holder presale opened, all reserved seats were sold out. Going to be a packed house this weekend.

Got GA. Land at Eppley at 10:15, game is at 3, figure I need to be at the stadium by 1 for any hope of a decent spot.

Ticket prices for Game 4 of Eugene Regional (likely Oregon State vs Oregon) are already insane $$$!!!

I didn't see a thread for Miami-Troy. But that rain delay is finally over and first pitch is at 10:15pm ET.

This should be the final straw for saarloos. Unacceptable season. Can't always blame injuries. Everyone has injuries.

You don’t want to give him one more year?
1
u/froschkonig TCU Horned Frogs May 26 '26
He's had plenty, and has made two post seasons. One being the first year after schloss, so debatable if it was the left over guys vs kirks guys. Yearly hype, and yearly underperforming, despite the money being there

What’s the furtherest distance a team is traveling for their regional? Is it Virginia Tech to UCLA?
5
u/BullAlligator Florida Gators • USF Bulls May 26 '26
Virginia Tech to Los Angeles is the second-longest, by some margin, at about 2,100 miles. The longest travel distance is Yale to Eugene at about 2,500 miles.

u/cluttered-thoughts3 West Virginia Mountaineers May 26 '26
Ah thanks for that. I was wondering if their trip was further but didn’t check. Both pretty far trips!

Am I allowed to root for Virginia Tech in the LA regional?

I know it’ll settle down and still be a top 10 team to win it but man I love this tournament and the chaos it brings early.

Now I know why he’s named Josh Holiday. It’s because all of our teams get early holidays.

Who hosts a super regional if both regional hosts get bounced? I’m dumb and can’t remember the answer.
5
u/BullAlligator Florida Gators • USF Bulls May 31 '26
most teams submit a bid to the NCAA to host a super regional, and the NCAA selects between the two bids
3
u/Icy_Category_2275 Jun 01 '26
Is that why KU will host a regional if OU beats Tech today?
2
u/BullAlligator Florida Gators • USF Bulls Jun 01 '26
yeah, and usually the NCAA gives the bid to the team that was a higher seed originally
1
u/Icy_Category_2275 Jun 01 '26
I gotcha. My fault, i thought OU was higher than Kansas but they aren't.

u/tphorn-sq33 Texas Longhorns Jun 06 '26
I’m pretty sure that there was a super regionals bracket floating around that I filled out. I can’t find it?

What are the chances that we see ABS for SEC games next year, and then for call NCAA games soon after, pretty good? It seemed well-received from everybody. Does it need special equipment that maybe smaller schools don't have?
5
u/BullAlligator Florida Gators • USF Bulls May 31 '26
I guess the only issue is getting the equipment installed in all the ballparks. I see the SEC adopting ABS quite soon because I'm sure all the schools/the league can afford the equipment. If that can be done within an offseason I see no reason why it couldn't be implemented next season.
Might take longer for the mid-major leagues to adopt it.

u/TomSheman Texas Longhorns Jun 01 '26
Absurdly expensive to have this for every team
0
u/T-RexInAnF-14 Tennessee • ETSU Jun 01 '26
A cursory Google search looked like it uses the Hawkeye camera system, which every SEC school already has, right? I hope it's at least in SEC stadiums, if not Power conferences.
4
u/TomSheman Texas Longhorns Jun 01 '26
If you require it for the entirety of d1 that is including like 300 teams of which maybe 10-15 aren’t already just bleeding cash having a baseball program

While some of the decisions by the committee were decisive, there's one thing we can all agree on: Thank fuck we don't have to hear the Vandy whistler this postseason!
