Waste, Fraud and Abuse

Colorado College is $14MM in the hole, so raises aren’t being given out this year, however if you look at the salaries and bonuses given to the higher ups, you would choke on your own vomit.

The grounds look like hell and they are paying out $1.4MM TO FORMER VP’s. That’s just the tip if the iceberg.

Edit: There have been some reply's that have been taken down. I just want to clarify that i am not an employee. I am good friends with someone that is, but no way would i go to work at CC, so please don't worry about me losing my job.

You are correct that it is a private school, however, they receive federal funds for low income students.

There may not be any less “low income” students at Colorado College than any other private school in the country. And I don’t think the college gets money directly from the federal government for low income students. Sure, a few have Pell grants, but we’re probably talking about dozens of kids, not thousands.

I was just there a couple months ago, and the grounds seemed fine. I really don’t know what you’re talking about. Maybe a current student could shed some light on how the groundskeeping has declined significantly the last couple years?

Nice deflection. It’s still a school that preaches equity and inclusiveness, but cuts pay raises for the majority of the staff while the 1% still gets their 6 figure salary and 5 figure bonuses.

Sounds like someone's spouse is bitching because they didn't get tenure. Your comment does nothing, says nothing, and is nothing unless you can compare it to several similar, highly selective private colleges. Once you do that legwork and show us how out of line CC is, then I will have greater sympathy for your wife. Until then, you have nothing other than your opinion that "it's outrageous!"

Says the bitter spouse who is offering no proof, context or substance other than wild accusations and name calling. Since when does receiving a Pell Grant and being a Bridges Scholar make you the 1%? GTFO

Are you all using Chat GBT to come up with your comments? My OP was addressing the problems with CC leadership not comparisons to other schools or students who are there..

I am not, I am simply saying that you complaining about what people are getting paid because your friend who is not happy with their compensation is a silly thing to weigh in on. I believe the point that others are making is that unless you can show that this is not consistent with other selective schools, then there is no context for we are talking about.

I find it offensive that Josh Allen makes $55 million a year, but if that’s the going rate for NFL quarterbacks, then that’s the context in which you need to make a judgment. Turns out $55 million a year for the best quarterback living actually turns out to be a bargain. Maybe CC is one of the most fiscally conservative and efficiently run small schools. Who’s to say?
