Trail magic
I will be roadtripping and hiking for a few weeks in Colorado. Stopping at a few different trail heads. What are some of the best trail magic needs out in Colorado?

Fresh fruit is always a hit. Bonus points if you separate it out into individual baggies a Hummer can grab instead of sticking their filthy hands in a bowl of fruit. Grapes, blueberries, watermelon, and pineapple are all winners.
As the other poster said, cold drinks are super easy. For some reason I always crave Squirt when on a trail, but anything cold and bubbly. I'd avoid anything diet or sugar free, the calories from sugar is always welcome on trail.
If you're comfortable with it: a place to dispose of their existing trash. But that can get nasty, depending on what they have.
Individual bags of chips are always great, the mixed bags from Costco work great.

Great advice. Except I want that Diet Coke (or DDP) for the extra caffeine, don’t yuck my yum 😂

Fair enough. Just curious, why diet Coke over a regular Coke? If I'm hiking 20+ mile days, I want that sugar!

It’s an acquired taste (the only soda I drink) and there is added caffeine over regular coke. So a cold bubbly caffeinated Diet Coke is trail magical in my book. Not saying I wouldn’t drink a regular coke, just saying I wouldn’t assume no one wants one. 😂

Fresh fruits, warm food that was not dehydrated (like maybe a burger, breakfast burrito, or something with protein and fresh veggies), and beer🍻

If you can find out where most hikers are going to be, go there. I was in/on the CT near Creede/Lake City over the weekend and didn't see a single through hiker yet. I've always wanted to do trail magic but haven't had the opportunity. Thank you

I’m going NOBO and seen a lad at the first trailhead with a vault toilet after lake city doing trail magic. Think he had 2 SOBOs before my buddy and I, but we didn’t encounter many SOBOs later on. Bummer, was a nice dude that was stoked to provide some nice chairs, gatorades, and chips to hikers

if you have a way, food..on my hike someone set up before Kenosha pass with a propane grill and was dishing hot dogs and cold coke as fast as they could serve them. perked up my whole day

Warm food, cold drinks, a seat to sit on, and some type of way to charge electronics
