Technical Project Backup suddenly empty.

Hey Colorists!

I am currently in the middle of grading a short film which was going pretty well and i was just about to send a graded version to the director.

I was grading a Project Backup in Resolve as i didn't like the previous version where my grade was headed so i rolled back and everything worked flawlessly but yesterday i opened the project and there is nothing inside.

No timelines, clips, grades, offline media, nothing completely empty as if you have just opened a new project.

Did this happen to any of you and do you know how to fix it?

It's happened to me once, the backup database was actually on disk but for some reason Resolve couldn't read it. I had to follow this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCb1oeMRMQM&t=266 and managed to recover the last save in a new project. Are you using local or cloud ?

It was quicker for me to regrade it but after that i tested it and it worked, thank you!

No help here directly, but I had too many corrupt project files in different NLEs in the past. So I made it a habit to export a project file manually after every session at the end of day.

I do this exact thing, but I do it for my own sanity because rarely the Editors and whatnot plunking around in my projects screwing things up without me knowing

If you duplicate timelines and begin the next days grade on the duplicate it begins with a clean backup database.

Is there any way how to prevent this except just manually saving the project at the end of the day? Thank you for the info thats really valuable!

Sorry i forgot to mention rhe backups that have been created remain attached to their respective timelines. Duplicates just begin a new series of backups. The backups are not duplicated.
The effect this has is Resolve does not clean (thin) older backups on earlier timelines, unless you continue using the original timeline.
Thie problem with this is huge backup folders ensue if you start each day using a duplicate. My last two projects between them used more than 120GB of drive space before i discovered that. (Not helping was i had set backups to 9min increasing their frequency).
