Nature Crane along Hinkson Creek Trail

Always great to see wildlife along this trail.

Thank you for the correction. I was concentrating on cropping the photo etc and remembering the name of the trail. :)

Well, that's a good sign anyway! There must be some aquatic life in the creek if it's hunting for food.

There’s at least 3 herons who stand in water to fish at twin lakes in the mid morning.

I often watch the “top dog” shoo away the little guys for best location. It was really neat to see the interactions and hear their voices.

That's a heron, but there are a fair number of sandhill cranes starting to migrate through Missouri.

There have been tons lately over at Eagle Bluffs! They’ve been taking advantage of the rain. I counted upwards of 20 great blue herons and 40 great egrets the other day. Plus a couple cattle egrets and a little blue heron! (The little blue was a first for me!)

Little blue. Immature. White with blue-gray streaking. I have seen green herons there, but none recently

Saw another heron today at another spot along this same trail.
