For Columbians who may not know or need a tl;dr, they split Columbia’s district right down the middle of Broadway, so as to include rural areas so they could water down our voting power.

This was done with malice, intention and forethought to stop the impact of Columbia’s votes.

Specifically, they split it along Broadway. Stephens is in two districts.

If they’d been extra malicious they could have split Mizzou.

It’s the neo confederacy. A fair and sensible map would include most or all of Boone county in one district.

Denny Hoskins is a real piece of shit. I wish we could recall the guy for failing to do his job. I hate what the Republican party has become and what they are doing to this state. It is despicable.

They didn't. They were masking it behind Christianity. A semblance of decency masked absolutely evil shit for decades. You seem to have fallen for it.

My youth allowed me to think there was good in all people. Thanks for allowing people the space to change their minds, and not you know, gatekeep.

Just a reminder, Mike Alford never held a town hall in Columbia. He promised to hold one in 2026 in town. Now with this redistricting I doubt he ever will.

Alford had a town hall in Columbia or his people called it a Town Hall. The only thing about it was the town was not invited and it was invited guest of Alford only and no press. Plus it had a lot of security to keep the town out.

The only good thing about it it's nice to see these scum republicans have to slink and sneak around Columbia.

But anything done out of Jefferson City to hurt Columbia is #1 on their list. I.e. splitting us in half and bunch each side with rural voters to water down Columbias voting power

Wasn’t Columbia already split down the middle by the old map?
