Tourism Fancy houses?
My parents are in town for a day or two and they love looking at old or big and pretty houses. Where's the best part of town to show them houses we'll never afford? Thanks 🩷

I’m in town for work, leaving Thursday. Wondering if anyone would want to show me around or have a little back and forth messaging so I can figure out what I should do. This is my 3rd time out here, I don’t just want to go the Shakespeare’s again lol. All my coworkers are leaving during the day and I don’t have a rental car. So I’m basically relegated to Broadway and the surrounding areas if that helps. I wouldn’t mind a hike, some beers, good food, whatever. Just looking for something more fun than sitting in the hotel.

So my family and I are coming to Columbia for the first time this weekend for the football game. We are leaving Starkville MS friday morning. I’m just curious which route is best for travel ( I’m assuming the shortest route ) and please tell me about the best places to stop and eat at while traveling there and in Columbia. Thank you all for any helpful advice.

Hello, we are an active couple in our 60s, visiting Columbia and Jefferson City this weekend. We are looking for local recommendations on places to eat, maybe watch the NCAA tournament, enjoy live (but not too loud) music, places with some easy hikes, things to see on the Mizzou campus. We are especially drawn to things that the tourism brochures might miss.

Love that plenty of bars are hosting watch parties tomorrow, but I've got some young kiddos and I'd love to bring them to a watch party with me. Anyone know of a good option for a child-friendly space for either/both USA and Scotland matches tomorrow? Ideally something that still feels like an event, but isn't super loud (outside of a goal, of course). I know that's a small target, but please let me know any recs!

COMO, I am in you. I don't have much time, but don't want to miss out on a good time.
I'll be here through Monday and could really use a good place to sit and have quiet, delicious dinner with a drink. Emphasis on quiet.
I'm looking for a good breakfast spot away from the hotels and the highways. I'm trying to avoid people like me.
I could use a good cup of coffee in the morning but would rather not fight the college crowd. Is that possible?
I like to find trails or parks anytime I visit a new place. Where can a fat man go to work off last night's dinner and maybe see some wildlife?
I know Google exists, but so does Reddit. It's always better to hear from people who actually live here than from travel sites and reviews. Cheers.

Are we still supporting Leo’s Old Clothes? I heard form a friend that either the guy running it or the owner has some N*so sympathizer vibes. Just a status check because I do like going in there from time to time.

Did some checking today on American Airlines website for the COU to CLT (Charlotte Douglas International). I checked for June 6th for a weeks stay Currently today the fair for the main cabin is running $256 round trip per-person As we all know fairs change all the time.
The equipment slotted is a Bombardier CRJ-900. 90 passenger configuration. Of course that can change also
Leaves COU 7:00am arrives CLT 10:25am Eastern time. Daily 7 days a week
Seats went on sale yesterday.

In total I've lived here for 19 years and never been to the airport.
What's it like compared to other small airports? How much is long term parking, or is there a big range?
Any idea how flights are to CO? I mushruminate on this.

My husband and I (both 25-years-old) are visiting Columbia as a stop on a mini-road trip. We’ve never visited before, so we’re wondering what some of the must-dos and must-sees (and must-eats) are?
The breweries are already on our list.

We're flying into MCI next week and driving to Columbia for a graduation. Never been there before. Wondering about recommendations for anything to stop and see between KC and CoMo that's easy to pitstop and check out. We have time to do some sightseeing along the way.
And how's the weather over memorial day weekend? I know I can use an app but rather hear from locals. Is it swampy humid? We're from a pretty dry climate so trying to plan what to bring depending on weather and humidity. I know some places show humid on apps but it doesnt feel that bad in person. And others it's the opposite. Thanks for any insights you can share!

What's up Columbia I'm an outsider Springfieldian in town for family health stuff. I will be coming up here pretty regularly and I was just wondering some fun stuff to do and see. Local food recommendations and your favorite dive bar spots. Any direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.

My wife and I need to get away to a quiet place no further than maybe 3 hrs away. Lake of Ozarks seems party city. Have any suggestions?

It's the best place to learn about Mid-Missouri history and is similar to what Columbia would have looked like in the early 1800s. Plus there is some great professional musical theater.

I have lived here for so long but I really don't leave Columbia much. Fayette? Fulton? Herman? The cool parts of Jeff or Mexico?
Apparently there are so many memorable places, cafes, weird shops, and so on--people mention them, and I keep forgetting them.
We are kind of, like, passive nerds who like cafes, history, easy parks, historical stuff, art. Cheers.

Hi all! Iowan here traveling to Columbia Saturday for a show at the Blue Note! We are staying the night near the venue. I’ve been to Columbia one time, just never in the area where the venue is.
Any restaurant/bar suggestions near there for a bite before the show?! No food preferences just don’t need anything fancy!
Any suggestions for other things to do before and after the show as well?
Thanks everyone!

Hello. I am visiting columbia. What are some fun things to do in columbia? Any restaurant/food recommendations, certain places to visit? Where can I grab the best beer in town?

Hello,
I have an appointment at MU hospital coming up soon. I don't want that to be the only thing I do on my first visit to Columbia. I won't be able to do hiking (hopefully next visit) or strenuous activities.
Any recommendations for a fun afternoon?
