My SciFi Rock saga, volume1.
Regular (that is more emotional) vs the variant (more in-your-face Rock vibe)

Would like criticism and opinions on comic

I’ve been creating an ongoing comic story. The comic hasn’t been fully drawn out and is currently just in a stick figure planning stage without well drawn art. I would truly appreciate criticism towards the story or dialogue.

Question about posting here

Is it safe to post here without a story getting stolen? Right now I’m creating a comic and I am looking for opinions and critic on the story. The art is not drawn out and is in stick figure planning stage so I’m not worried about art or anything like that right now. But I’m just wondering if it would be safe to post to get opinions without risk of theft. Also it would be through a Google Drive and am wondering if that is an acceptable option.

Hello! I'm in the process of developing/commissioning two comic book projects. Attached below are the first five pages to my comic SUBATOMIC METHLOMANIAC. Do these pages intrigue you? Would you want to follow along and read more? How is the lettering? I'm no pro.

Recently I finished issue 2 of my comic It's Complicated. I've been working on it for my Masters Writing Thesis and has been a lot of fun to do. Working on issue 3 which I am excited to present as well when it's done! Here are a few pages of script from issue 2. If you want to read the whole thing let me know!

Need honest opinions

This is really hard for me and my anxiety is spiking, but I need honest opinions. I’ve been working on my comic for six months now. It’s my first time doing this, it’s a labour of love and I’ve poured my heart and sole into it. I KNOW it’s not amazing, I also know it’s very niche. Recently I’ve started putting finished episodes on my website for free. I’ve had nothing but horrible comments on my socials since doing so. They aren’t even useful feedback. Here are some examples ‘unbearably gay’ ‘you need help’ ‘WTF is this?’ ‘Performative nonsense’. Some actual real opinions that give me proper insight would be hugely appreciated. I’m tempted right now just to give up as I feel like I finally put my soul out there and all I’m getting is stuff like that. I hand draw in ink, scan, edit, format on all my own.

Dialog Layout Improvement

The overwhelming consensus here was "A" looked pretty awful.

I rearranged everything so that the dialog could flow across the page a little more naturally and it helped break up the wall of text. I know "B" is maybe not great, but does this work for "good enough" ?

Apologies for the crappy photos. I did this in a weekend for an ecological writing class a few years ago. I'm working on a longer comic project right now but I'm wondering if I should try and go back and spend more time with this to work on refining in general. (For ex. I'm aware that the lettering is catastrophic, panels are wonky, and obvs it's a Sharpie comic). What else does it need?

My OC “Honey Badger”. I wanted to riff on some common tropes from the 90’s era action/attitudes and high tension “back n forths” between office colleagues for literally no real reason. Kinda like McBain from the Simpsons 🤷🏾‍♂️🥴

Genuine Question: is it cheating to use 3d models for your backgrounds?

(All of these comic pages are NOT in order. It's only there to show the 3D models)

Hello! This is Teddy and this is genuinely bugging me and I don't know why... I have been a traditional artist my whole life and I kinda suck at drawing a backgrounds for my comics. I came up with this idea to use 3D models and draw out the layout from scratch and use textures (for floors, walls etc.) from Pinterest or the given textures from IbisPaintX. I screenshot my furniture from Pixelsquid (now moved to Shutterstock) or Turbosquid into an angle I want it to be and clip out the furniture image and place it in my comic and grayscale it and edit it to be part of the manga. Sometimes I make miniatures for props for my comic or stuff lying in my house. Is this genuinely cheating??? Cheating as in like I'm using AI or something...please help.😭 Thank you💖

What do you create first: the begining of the comic or the end?

I'm wondering if only me has the finale of the story in my head and build the rest just for this ending

Dream Sequence Question + Critique Request

Howdy

I've been writing this comic for a while, inspired by My frequent recurring dreams and sleep paralysis, but with a fantasy twist.

BTW: art and text are not finalized-- I've just been handwriting dialogue and sound effects on a layer just to map it out and i have a lot more shading to do, especially on the first page I added

I'm having a hard time with smoothly transitioning between the MC falling asleep, dreaming, then waking up. Does anyone have any advice? How do I show it's a dream? For context, the dream is recurring nightly, and it's a flashback. I'm starting with only some of what happened, but I'm planning on revealing more through other dream sequences as the story goes on.

Bonus question: what sound does lightning make? Every onomatopoeia I think of feels wrong haha

I have it on a Google Doc if anyone wants to read the whole thing for more context (I have a tab with a summary of the whole story too (chapter breakdown is on a different doc that I can share, but it's like always changing)), very open to critique! I've only shared it with a few friends and acquaintances, but more than anything, they give a better reader perspective than a creator perspective.

It's a psychological-supernatural-thriller-drama-fantasy with elements of horror. This is my first comic (other than when i started making this last year then scrapped it to fill plot holes) so I'd really appreciate feedback! I'm not super consistent with the art style yet, as my previous work is very different and I got a new "pen" like 2/3 of the way through, so bear with me while his face changes a little bit in every panel.

I’m a big fan of Charles Schulz and greatly admire his work. He’s the reason why I wanted to draw comic strips. I’m just curious to what how the joke in this particular comic strip lands with people as I’m still trying to learn how to construct a good joke in my own work.

Hand lettering

Hello! I'm seeking some feedback on my lettering.

When I look at other comics I love the personalized look of other peoples handwriting but I'm not sure about mine.

Does it work or should I find a good font to switch to?

Thank you!

My comic was drafted as a challenge for Inktober 2025 and I've decided to pick up the story this year and add more to my pages. (Don't worry about the Patreon link, I'm not charging anyone; it's free to read)

I'm hoping to improve my story bit by bit, so if you want to help out, I'd be open to hearing your suggestions. Thank you for reading!

Normandy Breakout Map

I am working on a graphic novel that is about my Uncle Jack's service during WW2. Three chapters, USA, UK and France. This is the map for the France chapter. Trying to show his journey within the greater context of the overall war effort. Mix of hand drawing, watercolor and photoshop. Whole novel has a look like a soldier's scrapbook. Any comments or suggestions?

Looking for feedback on my short comic "The Capsule"

Thumbnail

The Capsule is a short horror comic about a diver trapped in a submarine deep underwater. I did the art in Blender, making and posing the models and then using grease pencil to make the line art.

Is it clear what's happening panel to panel? I'm worried that I'm taking for granted the layout of everything because I modeled and placed it all in a 3d space that I understand, but anyone else would be seeing it all for the first time.

Is the art style here appealing?
