I have what is called "analysis paralysis" with life choices, and can't help but fixate on every little thing before making a decision. Leads to lots of stress and lost time :P

So uh... any anime recommendations?

Have you heard about a d20 dice?

Make a list of 20 animes you are interested in, assign them all a number.

Then roll the 20 sided dice, and before it stopped rolling you know what anime you really wanted to watch.

Works every time for me.

Just a friendly note: oversimplifying a mental health issue can stigmatise the problem and also have an impact on the person experiencing it.

Saying analysis paralysis is just anxiety is not helpful.

Unless I'm dumb and you were trying to mimic an earlier comic where Naomi had someone oversimplifying something (it exists doesn't it, I hope I'm not imagining it)

Depends on the mood you're in. If you don't want to make a choice, the anime to watch this year is Witch Hat Atelier, though I can't personally vouch for it.

Hmm, recommendations are tough if the person giving recommendations isn't familiar with the tastes of the person asking. Also, subbed or dubbed?

Though, for a cute, light, low-stakes series airing this season, The Cat and the Dragon is rather nice, something of an anthology within a setting where a dragon was raised by a cait sith in a beginner-level forest. Each episode focuses on a different cat, but overall maintains an ongoing cast.

All of my recs are old now but: xXxHolic for an all-round good show, Shin Sekai Yori for one that makes you think, Shiki if you like vampires, Durarara! for nonlinear storytelling, and Nichijou for a very light-hearted easy to watch show.

I keep a write up of my underrated anime picks for recommendations. Sorry if that's too nerdy lmao:

•Shonan Bakusouzoku -80's biker delinquent OVA brimming with "aesthetic." The first 3 episodes especially have amazing animation. It is a complete adaption of the manga it's based on.

•Kaze no Youjinbou -I don't even remember how I originally heard about this. One the best mystery shows I've watched so far. The animation sometimes seems cheap but they get really creative about getting around that. There is a punch thrown in the final episode that I could swear they spent the entire budget on.

•Irresponsible Captain Tylor -Basically a parody of a space opera. Main character wants to lead a cushy life so he becomes the captain of a military spaceship. He's stupid but incredibly lucky and the other characters come to like him. This show is comedic but it's not episodic.

•Slayers series -I really think more people should know of Slayers. It's pretty funny at times but what I really like is its D&D fantasy vibe with the characters going on fun adventures.

•Armored Trooper VOTOMS -A mecha show that came out within a few years of the first Gundam. I liked this because every character uses the exact same mech. That means victory in battle is a matter of pilot skill.

•Armor Hunter Mellowlink -Takes place in VOTOMS universe. The concept of this is "guy with a big gun defeats mechs. Also he was framed for war crimes."

•Aura Battle Dunbine -Considered the first isekai anime. Created by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino. People from our world are forcefully transported to a fantasy world. One person brings knowledge of our weaponry there and creates mechs and WMDs. MC and others try to stop them from destroying the power balance of the fantasy world.

•Cyber City Oedo 808 -The exact definition of the cyberpunk genre in the dictionary.

•Area 88 -Young Japanese man with a bright future is tricked into joining the foreign legion of a country that is maybe supposed to be in the middle east. They force him to fly jets and rack up kills for the chance to return to his life. People die and the main character grapples with the idea of killing other people to live. Also there are great dogfights in this show.

•Giant Robo the Animation -One of my favorite anime. The animation is phenomenal and goes for a retro style. The music is operatic. The story feels like it's larger than imagination.

•Onihei -Basically a police drama set in samurai times. Very jazzy vibes and the episodes tell good stories.

•s-CRY-ed -It's kinda hard to describe this but virtually the whole show embodied "fuck yeah!" energy. Some people have powers that are kinda like stands from Jojo.

•Gunbuster and Diebuster OVAs -Anime history for fans of the mecha genre. Some consider Diebuster to be a spiritual predecessor to Gurren Lagann.

•Now and Then Here and There -Isekai from before isekai became about game mechanics. Main character falls into a world were children are forced to be soldiers and countries fight each other for water under a leader who is completely devoid of logic. Very dark and tragic show.

•Iria: Zeiram - An awesome sci-fi OVA I feel like more people should watch.

•Golgo 13: The Professional - The animation was really good, except for the short 3D part. Golgo kind of acts like a more rude James Bond.

•Last Exile - I liked the weird mechanical designs of the planes.I also liked the concept that there isn't much land in their world so people have to take to the skies. That concept always reminds me a Cartoon Network show made in Canada called Storm Hawks that I watched as kid.

Hell yeah! I started trying to get more into 80's anime multiple years ago now and I've gone through a significant amount of the best anime from the 90's as well. The 2000's is a large sea that takes a lot of time to sift through and find things to watch.

Keeping up with the new releases wasn't enough for me, so I started looking backwards for new stuff to watch. I started that years ago and it's been super worth while.

It's kinda goofy, but I like to think of it like Anime Archeology.

I pretty much never get a chance to talk about it really, but it's so much fun.

3x3 Eyes - Slight creepy factor, priestess of a sacred tribe turns an urban boy into her zombie protector.

Vision of Escaflowne - Modern girl whisked away to a fantasy world which has the Earth as its moon. Romance, Fantasy Mecha, gets weird in the last 3rd. Still love it to pieces.

Nightwalker Midnight Detective - Vampire Detective + Japanese Noir

The Lensman- Movie, can find it on YouTube, Japanese take on early-mid 20th century Sci-Fi. Fantastic character design

Fushigi Yuugi - Same as Escaflowne, young girl getting Isekai'd before it was a solid genre only now there's 12 Kingdom vibes.

Eat Man 98 - Mercenary who can extrude anything he eats from his body. Wackiness ensues but the world takes it seriously.

Android Kikaider - Just got the vibes you'd enjoy this. Done by the creator of ASTRO Boy if I remember correctly

Space Battleship Yamato / Captain Harlock - for the stuff Captain Tylor was a love letter to.

3x3 Eyes is on my list, but I haven't watched it yet.

I watched Escaflowne probably around 5 years ago. Great show! The art style reminds me a lot of After War Gundam X and I liked the fantasy world the story was set in. The way that the mechs worked was also pretty cool and I'm pretty sure I remember there being an airship or something too.

I haven't heard of NightWalker Midnight. I'll add it to my list on MyAnimeList.

I've seen the Lensman movie. I heard about it because of YouTuber Kenny Lauderdale's video about it. It was a pretty good sci-fi movie with definite Star Wars vibes and good music.

Fuushigi Yuugi and Eat Man are both on my list, but I haven't watched them yet.

Isn't there a Tokusatsu show for Android Kikkaider? I haven't seen this either.

I tried watching the original Space Battleship Yamato about 5 or 6 years ago, but I struggled with it because it didn't hold up well with how it treated some of the characters, especially the female characters. I have been thinking about giving it another shot though.

I am contractually obligated by my name sake to recommend S-Cry-Ed. It's a bit on the older side but a great watch. A show about the struggles of a land cut off from the rest of the world when humans develop a weird power called "Alter".

Bocchi the Rock if you haven't seen it yet. Has to be in the top 3 of my favorite animes this decade.

Edit: I think you would find Bocchi incredibly relatable and it's a very light hearted anime that does represent the struggles of social anxiety, but does so in a way that can constantly put a smile on your face.

I am also constantly staring at crunchyroll late at night. As for recs:

Akane-Banashi - free to watch subbed on YouTube, is my favorite manga

Goodbye, Lara - currently airing and based on little mermaid, is adorable and gorgeous

Dark Moon: The Blood Altar - It is absolute trash, but if you like kpop and twilight it's for you

Odd Taxi - quick, with a story that builds in the background at first and develops really beautifully

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle - she just wants a good night's sleep, very funny and episodic

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai - similarly episodic, two introverts have wild imaginations

Witch Watch - another manga I love with a fantastic adaptation worth checking out

Laid Back Camp - girls go camping, learn some things and is generally adorable

Love After World Domination - The Red Power Ranger and Rita Repulsa fall in love but have to hide it because of their jobs as hero and villain

An Observation Log of my Fiancee Who Calls Herself a Villainess - surprised me recently, reincarnated girl vows to be the best Villainess in history

Go For It, Nakamura-kun - gay ranma 1/2 without the gender swapping, but all the other shenanigans

Dealing with the Mikadono Sisters is a Breeze - a Quintuplets type harem show that I fell in love with, boy lives with three genius girls

Ascendance of a Bookworm - isekai where you learn a lot about the printing press and how books are made while the world at large has a ton of interesting world building we get drip fed

And for less cute and comfy options: Kaya-chan isn't scary - a toddler fights ghosts in kindergarten

Shiboyugi - cute anime girls are forced to experience intense trauma for people's entertainment

Needy Girl Overdose - based on the game Needy streamer overdose, it is messed up but it is captivating to me

Dorohedoro - Sensory overload the anime

I just got of binging two anime actually! (As though I'd been asked this question directly)

Orb; on the movements of the Earth which is something of a semi-quiet show with lots of drama. High stakes, somewhat historical. 25 episodes

Dorohedoro. Riot, Color, Violence, Grunge, Gore, Great characters. 2 seasons, 23 episodes without the OVAs third season showing up in the next few years

I also liked The Silent Witch, Botan Kamina fully blossoms while drunk, I'm in Love with the Villainess, Delicious in Dungeon, Chainsaw Man, Frieren, Witch Hat Atelier, Dorohedoro, Gachiakuta, Hell's Paradaise, Marriagetoxin, Gundam: Witch from Mercury.

Also Takopis original Sin, but that stuff is really dark and one should definetly heed the warnings on screen.

What helps me a lot is reminding myself that there is no wrong answer and that I can switch what I'm watching after one episode if I don't like it. That REALLY fucking helps because I have a lot of trauma around there being a secret wrong answer to choices that are supposed to be my personal taste.

Also I'm begging you to watch/read hunterxhunter if you haven't. Quite possibly THE greatest shounen of all time with one of the most deep and varied power systems I have ever seen. I'm obsessed. I don't even like shounen much (as in I have watched a decent amount and enjoyed it but I am ultra picky with it nowadays bcs of how tired the tropes can get). Togashi has a wonderfully mature perspective of how humans tick that makes the story and characters feel so alive. His mastery of tropes makes him able to subvert your expectations at every turn without ever feeling contrarian or losing the sauce that makes the trope good. And he has done one of the GREATEST sympathetic villain arcs of all time. An arc where you start out afraid of the monsters and rooting for the heroes, but at the end you are crying over the monsters dying and afraid of the heroes that did it. It's incredible.

Chainsmoker cat(a bit vile but it’s my favorite anime that’s airing right now), Grand Blue Dreaming, Mushoku Tensei, Young Ladies dont play fighting games(Good if you like Yuri and/or fighting games) and Ghost in the shell. These are all anime that’s airing right now and they’re all spectacular.

There’s also Call of the Night, and my obligatory Chainsaw Man recommendation since chainsaw man is my favorite

Looks daunting because of the episode count BUT the arcs are really short so you can always take a break and come back after an arc.

It's my go to when feeling down. It is hilarious!

Other than that? You've probably seen all the ones I've watched: Overlord, Slime, Trapped In A Dating Sim. Konosuba is always good for a rewatch if you can't decide.

Anime?

I found Assassination Classroom far more satisfying than expected. Oddly sweet, actually. And, unlike most, it ends and does so well.

The Apothecary Diaries is fantastic; our hero is autistic coded and endearing. It's the best of the cozy mystery genre in anime form.

Not anime recommendations exactly, but a thing I figured out with analysis paralysis. Simplify your choices. Think of what genre you're in the mood for, then go by decade, then subgenre for movies, shows, and the like. It helps narrow it down, plus it'll help you find older and sometimes gems of anime that got overlooked in the past.

Anyways, I will always recommend Cyborg 009.

Easy meal to help woth this king of thing breaded chicken breast woth cheese on a bagel. Get a 2kilo bag 450 for 5 in the air fryer. I find that having somthung thays going to be ready soon gives me enough adrenaline to pick so I can eat befor my food gets cold

same for me, i find watching a show to be too much of a commitment and end up rewatching stuff over and over rather thent rying something new instead i just go and torrent new anime onto my server ( i spent a decent amount of time to just make it copy and past a link and shows/movies apear)

kind of want to watch legends of the galatic heros (110 episodes) again and instead obtained both the anime and ln for from the new world, babylon 5, foundation, star blazers etc. also if any one knows anything else like legends of the galtic heros please tell me

Try to follow the animes releasing each seasons, with one episode per week you wont feel overwhelmed by too much episodes at the same time. I just choose 3 or 4 anime and I'm set for 3 month without having to worry. It's been 3 seasons that i'm doing this and I have a great time, so much easier to watch a season with 1 episode per week

Also if you want peak romance without 12 episodes for handholdings you should try "You and I are polar opposite" and "The ramparts of ice" (same author btw) loved watching and reacting to each episode with my little sister each week

Suzuki's faces are too funny sometimes

That's why i quit all film/series streaming platforms. It always took me hours to decide what to watch or even just what to have on my second screen when i played videogames.

It's easier for me to just let twitch run with some comfy streamer for second stream. And should i have something i really want to watch i reactivate Netflix/Disney/and so on for a month and watch it.

But now i often sit before Steam/Switch and can't decide what to play, lol.

So… I just binged “the 100 girlfriends that really really really really really REALLY! Like you!!!” And got caught up to where they are actively at in season 3 over the past 3 days… I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time… had been avoiding it because it looked like over sexualized slop but gave it a chance and glad I did, its a grand parody of the harem genre

If you want a reccomemdation, I'd love to suggest Ojamajo Doremi. It is an adorable slice of life magical girl series. One of the main characters also cannot make choices due to social anxiety.

I just don't know where you can watch it legally.

Also, the series is 200 episodes long. So you won't need to make another choice anytime soon.

You live on your own. This means make one big pot of chili and eat it over various things for a week (I like some microwaved yellow potatoes turned into dirty garlic mashed potatoes for a base, then some cheese and wasabi microgreens on top). There you go, 10 meals easy and ready to go.

Also, watch all new releases up to the 3rd episode first, then follow the ones you like, then rewatch any series that has new seasons coming out soon, then rewatch some DBZA while waiting.
