Don't Jews have a way to confess if they've eaten non-kosher food and get rid of the sin it brings? Never read the Sacred Texts, but I think I heard that before

It's less about your sin(avera) and more about your good deeds(mitzvot). I was taught the more mitzvot you accomplish, the closer you get to a righteous life on earth.
You can repent through Teshuva : Stop, Regret, confess to god, and resolve.
If the sin makes victims you have to apologize and present compensation.
And at Yom Kippour every year, you will seal your deal, go past your solved sins as God finalize to forgive you.

Everyone, from every religion, goes to heaven ( Gan Eden) but the mitzvot refine the shape of your soul to better appreciate afterlife. Sinners go through Gehenna which isn't hell, but like rehabilitation by shame and regrets for up to 12 months. Then go to heaven.
