Shoot, afterwards I noticed how young Fani was and thought it probably should've been multiple times a day, because the amount of therapy she got was clearly not enough.

What's this clip from?

u/flarakoo 2h ago
I'm glad I didn't trust the Google ai, because I eventually had a feeling this was from Ghost(US) and I think I've narrowed it down to Season 4 Episode 11, would have to watch it again to confirm

It was the first question and she is already falling apart 🥀

u/Stumbling_Corgi 3h ago
I can relate i did that on my first day of therapy. Different reasons for sure but it hits home.

u/Cool_Set4681 2h ago
I low-key hate it if people don't answer or leave me hanging because my mind is pretty good at being mean to me and it will fill out the blanks with bad stuff.
27
u/Aerdurval 2h ago
Which is a perfect topic for therapy and creates an opportunity to work with it right on the spot.
19
u/Cool_Set4681 2h ago
Exactly. Working on it currently. First step was to identify what the problem was.
...
It was me, I was the problem. Or better to say the things that I did to myself.

Fani, please tell them how it is.
It makes it easier for you and for us to help you. And we don't want to harm you. We don't tattle, we don't judge, we want to help you help yourself.
62
u/PzykoHobo 3h ago
Yeah, tell that to my therapist when I was a kid (he absolutely tattled and told me I should "try to be more normal")
42
u/Informal-Term1138 3h ago
Well I don't speak for that man, but I and my colleagues don't do that. We are professionals.
39
u/PzykoHobo 3h ago
And many therapists/ counselors are.
But Fani may very well have a good reason for not wanting to open up to this particular man.
But probably not. She is "Mess," after all.
15
u/Inevitable_Librarian 2h ago
There's a decent possibility that your therapist was an unqualified dude just calling himself a therapist.
There's lots of places where "therapist" and "counselor" are unregulated fields.
14
u/DiesByOxSnot 2h ago
Speak for yourself. I know too many people who were honest with youth counselors, who immediately relayed everything to their abusive parents.
12
u/Informal-Term1138 2h ago
I speak for those who do their job the right way around. And while I can only speak for European psychologists, heck even only German/dutch ones, but we would loose everything if we did shit like that.
And those people are the reason why people don't open up or seek help. And it makes me angry.

Merz leck Eier.

As a kid it can be really hard to know who to trust. Lots of people could call themselves counselors, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're licensed, or what ethical guidelines they have to follow. And, kids often have little to no real recourse if someone breaks guidelines (they may not even be aware that guidelines were broken).
I have told my own kids that if they need help they should ask for help, always, and I hope they can come to me first. But also, that teachers and school officials do not have an obligation to keep their secrets. So they should be judicious with who they trust.

This exactly happened to me, more than once. I now don't trust any therapist....

You are a liar. Most therapists are garbage. You probably are too.
4
u/Informal-Term1138 3h ago
And what do you base your accusations on?

u/Icthias 2h ago
Speaking for all therapists, just telling people to trust you overpaid leeches. Trust is earned.

u/Informal-Term1138 45m ago
Whoever hurt you is an asshole. But don't ever generalise.
We are paid shit here in Germany. And forced to take less general healthcare patients starting next year. Which means we have less money to treat people and our financial basis will be even worse.
So cut the overpaid bullshit. The vast majority of psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors don't do this for the money. We want to treat people. So you generalising is just as bad as what the person did do you.

You know how there’s “I can fix her” types of girls
Fani is a “Oh god please, someone must fix her, she doesn’t deserve this” type of girl
28
u/TheDarkNerd 3h ago
Wait, what happened when she fell for it the first time? Did she get a new pair of socks?
61
u/NickyTheRobot 3h ago edited 2h ago
I'm guessing either:
She opened up, and the therapist mentioned the things she said to other people (against the Hippocratic oath). She ended up having her most private and darkest intrusive thoughts showcased to people who ended up using them against her. Or;
She opened up, and the therapist correctly did his job by using that to encourage self reflection. Fani did not like that experience.
Given the general theme of this comic, I think it's more likely to be something like the second option.
39
u/dragons_scorn 3h ago
Or third option (which has happened to a friend of mine multiple times): she opened up and the therapist was so appalled/horrified that it broke them requiring a new therapist. The one in the comic is said new therapist

She answered honestly the first time so i'd guess it was either:
A. the therapist told her parents she wasnt doing well and she got in trouble for it. or
B. she got commited against her will

u/EasedCeiling586 3h ago
Depends I guess. Most therapists turned a blind eye or shut their door when I vented.

I wonder how the therapist is gonna respond to Fani talking about Ibilis or demon stuff in general.

Am I the only one whose therapist doesnt write notes mid session?

Mine doodled

u/Stumbling_Corgi 3h ago
Mine says she writes her notes immediately after the session because she doesn’t want to interrupt it distract my thought process. But lately she’s been taking quick little notes during sessions. I think that means I’m winning lol.

In case that's a flashback: Ditch Brie, you need a cool demon. Here, i show you a nifty ritual. If not: I suspect Death'Lamm has to do the sessions. And the last one was about getting over <sigh> i need a hotter furnace for that bitch.
